I am grinding the ja37d rn and I heard that the gripen has really been off the meta lately. How would the gripen e affect the meta ? Does it have better fm than the other 14.0 planes ? Better radar or anything that would make it worth using ?

The Gripen E is a massive improvement in the Gripen, so I think it would be a bit above the 14.0
Possibly it could be 14.3, together with the Super Hornet.

Should fair very well. Might even have the Typhoon beat at the moment with its currently very poor state:
- AESA Radar
- 2+7 fit (gains 2 extra belly mounts and all 3 belly mounts can take AMRAAM/Meteor)
- (Id assume the same CM load as the Gripen C so would also be more than the Typhoon)
Then it would also have a much more pwoerful engine compared to the Gripen C with a positive TWR.
Those all in all would already make the Gripen E a very decent top tier. Might get a little out-classed down the road by the Typhoon and Rafale, but the Gripen E was designed to be the cheaper option compared to the other 2 rather than directly competiting against them and so did have some compromises, but would be very good nonetheless. (and a lot of those comprosises wouldnt be modeled in game/relevant ingame)
May be best to go for the Gripen NG, which is basically the Gripen E before it was the Gripen E, just so that the E can be ready / saved for IRIS-Ts.
But there is a suggestion up for it, if you want a proper read

No all they should do is add Gripen E with limited features to balance it out. Then update the features it lacks in later updates would be much more reasonable. I don’t want Sweden to have to grind a feature on a plane for 400k rp again. It happened twice with Sweden’s tech tree
Pretty sure every missiles pylon can take a BOL.
Gripen E will be a rate monster, with twice as much CM that the gripen C gets also can carry double pylons for a total of 11 missiles, in turning performance you hold almost the same weight with much bigger wing area, more thrust to push the ratio little over 1.0 at full load in the end of the day, you will out class every fighter jet in short range term, in bvr you get aim120 C5/C7 and the raven AESA radar which is comparable to the apg/85 AESA just 20% worse than that, and would have a much higher detection rate than most of the other modern 4.5-5 gen radar because of the GaN and because of the ton of T/R modules, in theory f22 would be detected and tracked over 80+ kms, oh and the other thing gripen E have swashplate to the radar which let to gimball the radar 110 degrees, mean fully safe while engaging BVR
Uh… The most i’ve ever seen is 9 and fairly certain its still just 4x BOL.
So does the Typhoon and Rafale and they are in game just fine.
Already in game, totally useless.
Rafale already has AESA and a big push to get the Typhoon CAPTOR-E which is on par, if not better than the APG-85.
Also on the CAPTOR-E.

It would be better than the early rafale. This is exactly why it should be released before the new rafales. Sweden will have no o there 4.5 to add after this that will be meta.F4+ rafales just wipe the floor with the gripen e in every aspect besides radar. To prevent the gripen e from being DAO they should add super hortnet and gripen e next update. Also mig25 and mig31 while at it bc they look cool :)
I believe it can have a max load of 2 wingtip fox2 and then 7 total fox3. It would probably still have 7xBOL tho since the whole point of BOL is to use empty pylon space and its fully modular for universal pylon use.
Yeah rafale has more twr than the gripen even with its gimped engines.

The more I read stuff like this the more I understand that the rafale released too early. Rn no country has any counterparts to it. We need the superhornet and the gripen e asap. And the f4 and f4+ upgraded rafales should not be added for a long time. Maybe after we get 5th gen/iir missiles.
I dont think the 3 belly mounted pylons can have BOL attached to them. But im not 100% sure about the wingtips. They might be able to have BOL. But yeah. Its basically the same loadout as the Gripen C but with 3x Belly hardpoints that can take AMRAAM/Meteor .
Rafale has correct engines. If anything, I think they are overperforming at the moment

Rafale F3 would have been fine. The issue is, they havent added the F3, they’ve basically added the Rafale F4 without adding anything onpar with it and something like the Typhoon, is being rather heavily artificially nerfed at the moment. In basically every single metric. The Typhoon DA2 with Tornado engines would outperform the currently modeled FGR4
I 100% think this was on purpose. They got a normally under-played nation and made it unreasonably op bc since the game is so old most people have prems for other nations and they don’t see the need to buy new ones. By making a normally underplayed nation op they are making the value of the mirage f1c go up. France was really good even before the rafale. Rafale will always be good aswell. I just think they added the rafale without any actual counterparts to sell the f1c. What a coincidence that its the pack that went on sale. The f1c spam is way worse than the f4s spam at the moment.
