The 76 can pen almost everything, or at close range anyway. When driving in city maps, i try to limit myself to 25 km/h so that the stabiliser works, it lets me shoot enemies faster than they can position their gun
I know the sherman has armor but that little bit amount of armor is nonexistent at 5.0 unless you get a full downteir and they are the worst tanks at their teir
The key point to sherman gameplay is to not be seen. Play like a light tank, try to sneak up on the enemy and keep repositioning.
I once borrowed the account of a friend who has Germany all the way to 7.0 and it just feels so good playing the tiger 1 and panthers its just quite literally point and click and if you are angle and have situational awareness it is not that easy to die
I know that but its not like it is like a Chafee it doesn’t have speed
Then start researching the m18, it’s probably one of the best 6.0 tanks
soviet tanks also feel so good if you account for the lack of depression and reverse gear but they have so much filter in their APHE rounds that a pen is almost a garenteed kill
the thing about america is that they are not bad at anything but they are not good at anything either (except maybe flanking)
The lack of depression means that they absolutely suffer on hilly maps.
You can always switch nation if you feel that you prefer different types of tanks. I mainly play US, but I also play Israel and Sweden (spaa cuz its fun) when im bored
at least not all of their good tanks either die to machine gunning or they aren’t good at anything
You rarely die to machine guns in the m18, usually it’s just the commander cuz he’s outside of the tank. Also, if you gat seen in American tanks, you are probably gonna get killed. Sure the m18 has no armour, but the shermans only have enough armour to slow it down and nowhere near enough to stop a shell
the only nations I can bear to play are the big three Italy tanks are just sad Chinese have all the bad tanks and none of the good ones Britain and France only have solid shot so no damage dealt Japan no because I like having armor and Sweden is just weird to say the least

Sweden you get APDS with 110 mm of pen at reserve tier, as well as 114 mm heat at 1.7 or something around there.

yeah but Sweden tanks also have no survivability and I’m one of those outdated heavy tank players who love to just sit there and tank all of the shots frontally that like pushing but this is impossible due to gajin refusing to akknowledge the idea of breakthrough tanks while allowing for 2 minute revenge CAS

yeah, not the greatest idea when playing US. There are already too many players holding down W and going on a point and click adventure, if you learn positioning on maps you will be able to kill the all pretty easily
You are acting as if 76mm M1 using M61 shell doesnt have comparable pen to Tiger I 88mm gun.
You either put yourself in position where pen isnt an issue, or go for weakspots.
Yes, there are tanks that present an issue…when faced frontally.
