As in topic, on some vehicles its easy (mig23, etc) showing the enemy in a circle on the display
but how about radars in planes like F4E, is there a way to know the altitude of radar target so I atleast know where to look?
And how do I know that my aim7e2 is properly locked? Sometimes it just explodes mid air after launch
here in this picture you can see the target is locked by my radar.
the relative horizontal position of the target on radar is shown by the line marked in blue leading up to the dot.
the relative VERTICAL position of the locked target is shown by the radar dish elevation angle which is the line marked red at the left side of the radar scope
as you can see, since the target is above me, so the radar is looking up and shows the vertical angle. and it is to my right it is showing the horizontal angle.
the length of the small blue line indicates distance.
the X-axis shows horizontal and y axis shows vertical.
if the small blue line is at the center and the small red line is at the center as well, you are looking directly at the target.
As shown in this image.
I dont have any experience with sparrows but if they lose the target in simulator or they get chaffed and the target is out of their FOV, they self destruct.
its just something youll have to deal with unless youre at high altitude. (which will make you a bigger target for enemy planes.)
You seem to be a new player so i recommend playing a lot more realistic battles before diving into simulator
I have top air in us and germany and rank 6 in russia im not that new
in sim I just grind events with rockets and sometimes dogfight
