Specifically what I mean is, how do you play 1.0-3.7 aircraft in sim if no lobbies currently exist? Is there a way to get a lobby going as a solo player to at least fight bots until players join?
If not, do you think it’s viable to play lower BR aircraft into higher BR games in this instance?
I am trying to spade Japan as a nation while mostly only playing sim.
Your best option would be to do a few practice runs in the test flight, then go for the low tier sim ground battles if you’re not seeing any sim air ECs for your chosen rating. You can uptier yourself with them, but depending on how high you bump up it’ll be a slog.
Generally a pretty viable, but does require a level of competency beyond average - I usually see people do it whose names I find quite recognizable, and it does depend on aircraft in question.
For 2.3+ vehicles, I find that they do exist when it’s a day where highest BR is 3.7 or 3.3 in EU/CIS at least. I’ve had a quite lively 2.3-3.3 game recently in fact where I spent 30 minutes constantly getting jumped while trying to get back to get more ammo. It was an experience! For japan, Ki-44-II comes to mind as a viable 2.3 thing that felt super annoying to fight in my 3.3 spit Mk II.
1.0-2.3 with the wacky biplanes and stuff might prolly be worth trying to do it in RB. It should be relatively fast, like 1-3 games at most.
It’s more that I always want to fly rank 1 vehicles in sim but never get to. They are very unique compared to what comes later.
Your best bet might be asking in the team sim LFG discord and organizing a pick-up match. The subreddit should have a link in the sidebar or the pinned library post. People tend to respond to LFG pings, and knowing there’ll be action and stuff and not just people afk bombing should push people over to giving it a try.
There should be decent sized lobbies for the 2.3-3.3 bracket still; but you should accept connecting to more than one server e.g. US & EU to be able to find them more often.
I see quite a few low tier games. I had a blast last night in the C.202 in a low tier match. There’s some good pilots too. Had a fun 3 vs 1 with a Spitfire, Hellcat and a Swedish Herdy Gerdy 190 looking thing.
I’m in the UK and this was at about 9pm. There was quite a few rooms open.
I check all 3 main servers. Often I can’t find any 1.0-2.0 games and maybe only 1-2 small lobbies of 2.3-3.3 on some days
