why do people care about flight models when you dont get to use them at all
top tier is a spam fest of fox3 missiles and with multipathing nerf there is almost nothing you can do when one is coming for you unless you have some hill to hide behind
to people that get good games in top tier:
how? what do you do to not get killed by some stray fox3 in first 3 minutes of the match
My advice is to wait for few minutes and then start, also never ever fly straight, and be ready to disengage sometimes just to survive fox 3. If not spade F14A and just spam missles like everyone else since thats what the top tire is all about.
yeah it doesnt work, whenever I use aim120 it doesnt hit anything even from really close distances, it really likes to eat chaff
its even worse firing it in tws
Have you tried notching?
Keep an eye on your RWR and defend.
Also what plane are you flying?
f16c
I cant notch a fox3 that is fired from ~5km there is just no time
but somehow my aim120 goes for chaff even at those distances without enemy notching
I get constantly killed by fox3 at tree level but mine cant hit even the easiest targets that aim7m would kill without issue
Im using AIM-54a and tbh Im suprised how many kills I get with them, maybe because of all these planes that got uped in BR and they should not be…and with AIM-120 I think planes are just fine so thats why its much harder as it should be.
Alright.
You can definitely notch at those ranges, but you shouldn’t be relying on it.
You have a good radar and a good climb rate, don’t cut grass. Climb up and either rain death on those who are low or engage in real BVR against high flying enemies.
By flying low you are limiting your notches so that most of them are underground, which forces you to climb to notch. Staying low is straight up bad now.
Climb. You are in a plane.
can you watch this replay and tell me what I did wrong, why did those aim120 miss

it really feels like I was cheated out of atleast 2 kills
that f4f should be dead that wasnt even a proper notch it was showing its belly to the missile yet aim120 went for chaff
also my radar gets bugged and stays in ACM or HMS and I cant switch it sometimes wtf
First one got there to late, the enemy was dead.
Second one switched targets to your squadron mate, he was close to that flanker. It lost track after that.
Third one I believe got notched. Plus the enemy went behind those pillars, that def didn’t help the tracking.
Fourth one hit.
Fifth one lost track, got notched most likely.
Yeah that’s a bug. Try rolling, seems to fix it most of the time.
It seems that your target selection is generally bad.
That flanker you shot three times was almost at notch angle the second time you fired at him. First time he was next to your teammate. Your first target was already being engaged by your teammates. It was likely that they would kill it before your missile got there.
Doesn’t help that you took off half a minute after your team.
Rabbis are undecided
:)
A few minutes wait means the game is over. It might work sometimes, but most of the time it’s going to end up with you not getting any action or the remaining enemies pushing your AF.
You dont
Meanwhile… I have a VAST majority of SARH/ARH Missiles still defeated by Multi-pathing and actually hope they reduce it further.
Yeah make top tire even more boring by nerfing any defence there is… You know its much easier to shoot missle then to defend it, then why you trying to make even harder to defend against it?
Because its easy to defend against SARH or ARH missiles. Though they could do with fixing BOL Chaff to actually work, but regardless of that fact, I rarely have an issue defending against incoming missiles.
that was fired from 10km giving you much more time than when fired at 5/6
The second one was fired at ± 4km
on the second one you were already sideways to the enemy, if you were head on there is no way you would notch in time
What you have to understand is that if you are going towards an enemy at 5km and he fires a ARH at you you were dead for a while. Why are you going towards them without firing your own weapons? Fire AMRAAMs of your own so that they can’t turn towards you.
You need to think ahead and not get into these situations. If you are finding yourself in such situations every match you need to increase your spatial and situational awareness.
