How player skill with SPAA effects the CAS problem

Cutting throttle in props also cuts the sound, so SPAAs don’t hear you

Ye, it’s why I responded to Pangolin acting like cutting the throttle was “Lmfao even.”

Then stop talking about top tier.

So because I don’t play top tier anymore, I don’t see CAS anymore? And CAS haters wonder why they’re the laughing stalk of the WT community.

1.0-7.0 and 8.0-10.0 are fairly similar as far as CAS balance issues go. 11.0-13.0 is far different from the rest of the brs.

And he got some reason thought that him cutting his own engine throttle means I can’t hear other’s engines lmao.

Your reasonong is just astonishing. I never mentioned you don’t other engines but ther is no sound to hear from my engine if its on idle or turned off. I don’t care if you hear other engines as long as you don’t hear mine coming to bomb you.

If I, or you, somehow don’t see a plane coming then I, or you, deserve to get bombed.

You claimed you can hear planes and I described you situation where you cannot. Also seing something coming from high AoA (70°-80°) from high altitude at high speed and without no sound is tricky to see even if you know where to look.

no

you never did

if youre seeing CAS coming to bomb you then you need to look down and start playing the gamemode you joined (ground RB, the one that has tanks in it)

Well guess what, some niche situation that happens once every couple dozen games doesnt mean crud.

What happens every single time there’s an aware CAS player, then fly high above the battlefield, scan for SPAA, see nothing cause I’m not sitting in spawn (unlike the average CAS hater) and then get torn to pieces as soon as they attempt to bomb som1.

Getting dove on by some guy with 0% throttle only happens when I’m fighting multiple planes at once.

No wonder you keep getting bombed, you have 0 sense of self awareness. It only takes an occasional glance upwards to stop nearly all CAS deaths.

The plane is coming in at a 60-90 degree angle at over 500-600 km/h IAS. It drops its bombs at 500-900 meter altitude.

What are you gonna do about it?

How is someone using fighter bombers as they’re described to do so by WW2 millitaries and provide consistent results in bomb placement “niche” situation?

The bomb isn’t falling on me cuz I wasnt sitting out in the open

It’s rare to see divebombing outside of anti-SPAA purposes cause it’s simply less accurate than slamming a bomb into the side of a tank at 10-20°

Hey maybe change the name of the mode then where even in the description it is still called ground

It’s very accurate if you know what you are doing.

I am only decent at anti-shipping divebombing after practice, but I can land hits on fixed positions as well in my hellcat and corsair when practicing for the KRABB D-day event.

This is IL-2 example from someone quite competent at dive bombing:

I’ll go and record the D-Day event CAS in my mustang when it happens.

Sure, it’s accurate against non moving targets and open-top vehicles, but low alt bomb slamming is simply superior

basically, yea. Everything we say or show, will always be invalid to them. If you check player’s playtime on SPAA, most will have extremely little time put into it and say SPAA can’t do anything. I have 26 Days of gametime total on SPAA while other’s barley have 1 day or less…the same people that barely have any playtime on SPAA are the very same ones that say that the things I said are invalid or doesn’t count. Not all, but a good majority do.

They have no idea how to properly hide or move around in the battlefield. So whenever they on a SPAA, they will most likely easily get destroyed too. There are ways to fight and outplay, not just sit in SPAA and shoot recklessly or tunnel vision. CAS does have more advantages, but doesn’t mean we cant stop them or punish them from mistakes.

Testing in sim difficulty custom battle with my P51D5 which i rarely fly and struggle to keep it pointing straight because it wobbles like insane and has a suboptimal gunsight:

It is more than sufficient to hit moving german tanks and speeding along the desert is the same whether A.I or player controlled.

It is also more than sufficient to hit moving friendly shermans you thought were german tanks.
… in fact, I killed more friendlies than germans.

Seriously, the P-51D5 is super annoyingly wobbly and uncontrollable with 2x1000 lbs bombs strapped to its middle.

Reason I didnt test in live game:

I cannot.

And meanwhile players always train themselves to play CAS, all the way from bomb aiming, rp3 slinging to anti pantsirs. sigh

Says everyone.

Given that we just got several new good SAM systems it would look like your argument is coming apart at the seams

getting a few new anti airs doesnt magically fix top tier and make it fun and great to play.
anti airs are unbalanced and CAS is unbalanced now and it seems there will never be a point at which all nations have somewhat similar equipment

i keep getting bombed by tiny missiles that go mach 3, so how am i supposed to be aware of those?
of course, im not supposed to be aware. i am free food for CAS and nothing more.

Just stop playing top tier like a normal person
