How player skill with SPAA effects the CAS problem

Doesn’t matter, it’s a dead idea that will never happen.

If you want less aircraft, petition for better SPAA and A2A assets to protect the combined arms battle space.

I’ve given many reasons, way too many times. The response I get every time goes along the lines of.

“Well uhhh- y-you just love abusing CAS!!!1!!”
Or
“Well urr wrong cuz my stats are better!!!”

If you’re seriously that bad at countering CAS, just ask for help.

Unlike CAS haters, I’ve actually put time in to learning to counter difficult enemies.

It’s just that 70sp SPAA shouldn’t be more powerful than 100sp tanks and 700sp planes.

Imagine crying because you flew into bullets. SPAAs are the easiest thing to counter. Getting bombed is difficult to counter.

If you’re somehow bad at countering CAS then just ask for help. Although taken as all CAS haters know how to do is die in the most braindead vehicles in the game, I doubt that’ll happen.

Let’s see what’s easier to avoid?
1: a thousand teaser rounds being fired indiscriminately from well over a kilometre
2: a 1,000lbs bomb that just landed right next to you.

Even if we talk top tier, what’s easier to avoid?
1: a massive missile labeled “MSL” going at you below 1,000m/s with a massive smoke trail being guided by hand
2: smokeless, invisible missile (with no label) going at you at Mach speed from well over 12km

The 1,000 because you can see and hear the plane coming, and simply hide from it, whilst tracer rounds may or may not render, and are completely silent at more than just a couple miles, and SPAA can see and or hear you pretty much 24/7 even when you fly at treetop level.

Seriously, if you are somehow bad at countering CAS, just ask for help

Also no, I’m not gonna comment about your top tier bs.

Right, because the bright red stream of sadness is totally not noticeable. Also, please tell us more on how to counter CAS. Please, you are a woman of colour and I am listening.

Then why are you so surprised at the idea that bombs are dropped from thousands of meters?

That’s standard fighter-bomber practice at WW2 brackets.

If you are flying at treetop level at WW2 brackets, that explains why you hate SPAA so much.

I recommend opening the Spitfire Manual I have sent you earlier and study the altitude for approaching, releasing one’s own bomb load, ideal approach angles and altitude for extending out of AAA cone and then retreat altitudes are.

I strongly disagree. The Pe8 that dropped a 5 ton bomb on me yesterday did it at high altitude, couldn’t see it, way out of range of my team’s useless Skink. The bomb exploded a good 100m from me yet I still died.

Cause they are not?

SPAAs are comparable to light tanks with autocannons at best (see BMP and other IFVs, etc.). Even then they are slower, bulkier (bigger → easy target), have less armor sometimes (mostly none) and worse ammo (for anti tank purposes). 80% of the times I get shot in an SPAA I am oneshot.
And I haven’t even started with SAM systems that have no way of defending themselves against tanks (see Ozelot er Type 93).

Flying out CAS is most of the time 1 guaranteed kill, if not more. Even if you get shot down, you can still drop your bombs. Happened to me yesterday. Shot down a Corsair, got the kill in the killfeed and it still could drop the bombs and kill me. I did everything right, shot down the aircraft and got punished for it (really cool) and the Corsair got rewarded with a kill for being bad and being shot down. How is that fair?

Hitting a fast jet at distances over 2km is harder than you think. But I don’t expect you to know.

Dodging SPAA (and SAMs) is also quite easy. Especially if you have flares and know what you are doing.

Because he was for some reason referring to top tier.

I honestly don’t even remember the last time I died to a Pe-8. It’s extremely rare for one to actually make it past CAP. I honestly respect people who manage to do it.

Lol.
They are not slower than most light tanks (unless you’re taking about wheeled light tanks or XM246)

They’re not a smaller target aside from the BMPs
Most of them have thicker armor (Gepard is .50cal proof whilst half the light tanks at that br just get shredded by .50cals

Worse ammo is EASILY countered by 2x guns with more than 5x fire rate

80% of shots resulting in a one shot is very gracious (although you pulled it out of your exhaust pipe) well over 90% of shots fired and taken in any light or medium, at pretty much any BR, is a one shot. Only real exception is engine shots, barrel shots, and HEAT

Gepard 1A2 and Shilka have left the chat
In all seriousness though, early SAMs are some of the most egregious offenders in the game.

Thing are pretty damn simple when y’all don’t intentionally complicate things, a lot of people don’t like pineapples in their pizzas, you repeatedly tell them to eat pineapples, that’s what y’all did. You get your stat pulled because you keep pulling the skill issue card like a troll lol and that’s on you bro

A better comparison would be a company not selling pineapple on pizza, despite a few people wanting it.

They sell pizzas with pineapples, they refused to add a menu without pineapples, do you see the flaws?

How would the option to buy quattro formaggi pizza would hurt your pineapple pizza consumption?

You might argue everyone would go on to buy four cheese pizza but in that case,

maybe they need to refine the pineapple pizza recipe? Maybe they should use fresh pineapples rather than cheap canned pieces that sat around for years in their juice?

Maybe they should experiment with adding the pineapple slices AFTER baking?

The only argument I’ve seen against TO mode is that “people would stop playing CA mode” and guess what,
if the only reason people play a given mode is the lack of choice then maybe, just maybe…

It’s time to step back and examine what’s wrong with the mode and implement adjustments to either improve its draw or recognize it is a more niche experience and accept that different people like different things.

Imagine if ASB players called for the destruction of air arcade and air realistic to force people to come play our mode because the average person prefers a more casual, lower barrier to enter experience and that is perfectly fine! (I’ll still try to encourage and recruit people to fly, but that’s besides the point.)

The flaw is pineapple pizza is TO mode

Ayo, guys. Main thread not about TO, about how proper SPAA gameplay including player’s skill/knowledge can effect CAS dominance. Gaijin has no interest in another ground mode right now, their main focus is CA. Lets keep that subject in the other CAS Problems thread.

Some people intensely dislike pineapple on pizza, while others enjoy it. For me pineapples make the pizza worse.

says gaijin?

if everyone stopped spamming “ugh, tank only is SOO 2020” it might get some traction
also when it comes to dead ideas, good SPAA is one of them as proven by every update ever

never seen one.
if youre gracious enough to write some if them here, i might understand what youre talking about

avoiding SPAA as a CAS player is trivial, just wiggle around occasionally.
avoiding pantsir is as easy as launching your AGMs, it will lose lock every time

you can hear nothing. and if you hear anything, youre dead already.
also hiding = no action taken against the enemy so he can easily keep launching with no danger of SPAA

no, its the other way around.
CAS is the pineapple, many dont want it, and everyone is forced to eat it
