How is real shatter nowadays?

As title states, what is the current state of real shatter now? Much of the information about it seems to be about a year old, so I worry that it may be outdated. What’s the current scoop? Are air belts to be avoided still? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It is really good for 12.7, 13.2mms that have HE filler and 20-23mm for props. HE belts hit hard most of the time, you can still get some useless hits here n there though.

Note: MG151/20 still uses the old formula (hitpower instead of realshatter) so you may find it more inconsistent than the rest of the 20mms, since it’s damage has a larger area spread but is less critical to the surface it hits.

Now for higher calibers (30-37mms) I’d say it’s lacking punch since the fragments don’t really spread much, it works…but definitely needs some tuning as it’s not very consistent.

Note: Mk108 only has 1 round that uses realshatter, the 30mm HEF-I round.

If you are flying props you should have a good time with HE belts.
But I cannot tell you that it’s gonna be as smooth for jets.
I don’t fly jets so hopefully someone can give you a better feedback on that.

On russian props with ShVAK cannons I prefer FI rounds (tracerbelt). Aiming at the wings, most of the time they rip apart instantly.

absolutely, by far the best belt for Shvaks.

Real Shatter still functions without bugs causing it issues.

Well to give you an idea.
I completely forgot that that was a thing.
