Hello, I have a question because I can’t figure out the answer. I don’t understand how the scoring system is calculated when we destroy a base. For example, the last example I have is G5N1. I drop 14 60kg bombs and it destroys the base, but I only get 300 points. However, when I drop 6 250kg bombs, it also destroys the base, and I get 500 points. I don’t really know; it’s strange. And sometimes, depending on the game, the bases are harder or easier to destroy. I would like someone to explain clearly how it works.
Some mechanics that could affect this are:
A lesser known mechanic for bases being harder or easier to destroy taken from this chart: “A large number of small bombs will apply much more damage to a base”. This might be because War Thunder is trying to replicate how in real life, more smaller bombs are better, hence why cluster bombs exist.
Also,
The more bases you destroy in a single match, the less points each base will yield to you. This was basically to kneecap bombers.
Also, different payloads have different multipliers for reward.
You can read more using the LEGION’s Loadouts 2.25 Bomber Chart in the FAQ section. I would say it is pretty helpful.
Thank you so much, even though I didn’t understand everything perfectly, I now know which bomb I need to take. But could you just explain to me what the line S with the experience symbol represents in each table of values (for example, 10.0, 6.9, 8.0)?
The more bombs you take, the less reward you get.
Im not sure how it directly translates going from differently sized bombs, but taking more bombs, is generally a major reduction in reward
Line S symbolizes the reward multiplier you get when destroying a base with that payload. It uses this chart here:
(I don’t know exactly how it works but heres what I think) Line S is the reward multiplier that you are given for “destroying a base,” or rather, dealing that amount of damage.
Take regular bombers for example, the reward multiplier is at 10 (10 being the maximum amount of SL and RP and maybe points and 0 being no rewards at all) until you deal about ~18,000 base damage. In-game, the certain payload you equip will tell you this value. You can also use the bomb chart in the document given (if feeling extra fancy). Once you pass this threshold of damage dealt, your reward multiplier will start decreasing with each damage dealt, as seen with the downward curve on the chart.
Taking the BF2C-1 in the US tree, your reward multiplier starts off at 8, and will follow the curve for regular fighters as you bomb. Now if you take the SB2U-2, your reward mutliplier starts out at 10, and will follow the curve for regular bombers as you bomb.
