How do you play the 47mm Tempest in Air RB?

I’ve recently unlocked the Tempest Mk V (Vickers P) (the 3.7 Tempest strike version with 47mm guns) and while I was pleasantly surprised by its anti-tank performance (being able to crack AI Tiger Is from the side), I am perplexed at how this is supposed to be viable in Air RB. Yes, I suppose I should just play it in Ground RB, but, in Air, while this thing gets the Tempest flight performance (although severely impaired by the gun pods), you have 72 tank-killing rounds that you generally never get to use because you play against the US, and US mains being what they are, just all waste their altitude on the single strike plane who’s just trying to get a few ground units (36 kills at the very best, which you generally never get).

If you are a VERY good shot you can go for other planes since it has extremely high speed and good flight performance for the BR. But really you can’t do much except for crack tanks (if available), otherwise try smacking pillboxes. Just a few rounds kills them, you can take out all of the pillboxes on a map with careful aim and luck. Some HE shells would be quite nice…

I don’t know about pillboxes, I tried it and most of the times the hits didn’t even register.

Try aiming for the roof/windows, those seem to be the weak spots. Even .30 cal machine guns can kill them if you shoot them enough there.
