Whenever I’m using a helicopter and try to kill something with hellfire i always need to aim over my target for 3-5 sec or else my hellfire will try and hit the tank from the side
but it always makes the hellfire hit the ground 5-10m in front of the tank
i feel like its some new that has been going on from the last update or maybe the one from before
any one else notice this problem?
I have but I think Hellfire in general should have a less wobbly trajectory a bit like the 蓝剑9 missile seen on Z19 which has a straight trajectory forward and then dives into the target.
I’ve never had that issue in specific with the hellfire, but yes, the flight path isn’t accurate to real life, mostly because of the way they are guided in game. This being directly laser designated to a target, and is only told, “hey, hit that point where my laser is at” while in real life, the guidance computer realizes, “hey, the laser is pointed there, and (said point of reflection being on the top of a tank) computes to hit said target at a top-down angle”
They should guide nicely on their own, at least thats how it should be. Instead you have to mind the trajectory of each hellfire.
There are countless reports about the hellfire and its messy guidance there hasnt been significant change in a while
I mean it is not great how it currently stands but I don’t see them changing very soon.
I’m a Chinese main so my experience is mostly stupid arcade when I get shot down every time by Strela and it takes 3 missiles to kill even a T62M.
because its a game, youre not hitting center mass, youre hitting the ufp, try aiming at the roof of the tank youll get better results
also this is a pretty known thing in games that stuff sometimes falls shorter than it should
youre painting a target, not designating it
imagine WOT artilleries, you never aim straight at the enemy because it falls short, you always aim behind them, because then it gives the aiming circle more area to hit the enemy
like this, the dot behind the tank is where the round would go if the RNG didnt exist, as you can see, its behind the tank
Yes, it’s a option of the gunners middle or left MFD, and I believe the Ah-64D has it located on the control quadrant, but it’s because it has the penetration values, it just depends on if it’s light enough to blow it to bits, or the armor is too thick, it’s just, you know, combat situation dependent.
(I.e. Russian and Chinese tanks have that carousel autoloader that goes boom, so you can watch a pillar of fire erupt from the once situated turret ring)
Well PLA’s ideal is that when a hellfire is launched the ‘laser supressing system should instantly respond’ whilst I have no idea as to how it works at least they have though about that. RN though I find a lot of the times in WT when I am killing Russian tanks especially in top tier that they don’t typically die first shot, pretty annoying.
No, self produced system that shoots laser back and should disable equipment without laser filter, pretty easy to counter although it does say the human eye even if protected should still be blinded by 3 seconds, don’t know how they tested that?
