How are you meant to use TOWs in their current state

it’s funny you use something like
“welL, iT WORKS FinE IN tEst DrIve So It mUst Be WOrK FiNe iN reAl battLE toO”

Thats something i didnt think to.
Actually lmao

“Normal” ATGMs still work the same as they did since the change of missile mechanics: it’s bad, but I did not see any change with this update.

Top-attack ATGMs (TOW-2B etc.) are rubbish now and getting them at the right height to pen the turret roof is hard if not borderline random.
They wiggle and wobble because of the initial drop in trajectory and they keep being flying drunk even out at 1.5-2kms.

Gaijin really needs to sit and take a look at what’s worth changing vs what they change, personally I think the missile changes benefit no one but the one or two russian beam riding tandems that remain pretty strong despite all the changes, Spikes are dead weight and now NATO top down missiles are losing their capability outright all from the desire to be realistic, despite the said realism being a very cherry-picked image in gaijin’s case.

Good points.

One would think that Spikes, being NATO’s top tier ATGMs, would be an improvement over the older TOWs. But they obviously are not since on a good day only 1 out 3 missiles will hit the target.

So we are left with TOWs as the only option of missiles you can actually guide (since the main issue with Spikes is guidance).
But now not even TOWs are a reliable choice, what must we do, go back to SS.11 ATGMs?

Ah, now it makes sense as to why you made that one thread complaining that the Italian IFVs are bad.
You’re literally sitting in the open. In a light tank. And dying. Those vehicles have guns and are also very fast. Yet you claim they rely on their missiles.

I also didn’t have any issue using TOWs.

In the first clip you clearly missed the crew compartment 90% of the jet hit the track

Not a TOW2B issue the 292 is just a buggy vehicle currently its impossible to ammorack it because its ammunition doesn’t detonate in the autoloader and there’s some other issues with its model also the TOW2B doesnt have enough pen to go through quite a few roofs due to composites ERA or just thick RHA

The TOW-2B hit the additional armour plates that were put there as testing weight on the 292.Also I have detonated 292 ammo rack before.

Not anymore you cant as long as you only bring 15 rounds its unkillable the ammo just dissappears

Hm, weird.
I think it has to do with them being rounds and not charges.
Two days ago T-32’s round disappeared too while charges exploded at first hit. Although that has to do with T-32 not having explosives in it’s rounds, unless it’s HE. Although game doesnt really model which rounds lay where.
Bug report yet?
I have ammoracked it mostly in its other autoloader part, the bustle part.

They claimed they fixed it in last blog, can you check if thats true?

If no, then I will have to trust their word.

Its still missing the autoloader module and the only ammo in the hull is the dart so It wont detonate

Even single piece darts have their charges, they are just incorporated into the same shell.
The primer must set of something to eject the shell from the gun…

It detonates.
Autoloader is missing since they are still implementing modules for vehicles.
Rounds in carousel, however, are now fixed and do explode.

Did you make sure he was carrying only sabot and no HE

If only the TOW-2B wasn’t massively artificially gimped from IRL…

Do you only exist to shit talk others and instigate arguments?

The complaint in the first clip was NOT the damage being done, it was the wild flight characteristics that make these missiles useless at short range unless you’re dumb firing them

The funniest thing is people thinking this is unintentional
