How are they actually going to balance the F-117

Yes guys, I respect your opinions.
But as I say, when something is still secret, there is a lot of room for imagination … and especially in a computer game that sticks to reality for various reasons, only approximately…

Maybe take DCS World and F-22 Raptor …
Where did they get the data for the flight model when this machine is even more classified than the Nighthawk … ?

Again, you’re suggesting a missile system whose max range is less than the standoff distance of the paveway as a counter, that’s self defeating.

That’s the same problem we see right now with much of the CAS options. They outrange and overmatch all of the current SPAAs.

Suggesting the only option is a CAP fighter in GRB is admitting to a poorly placed BR ranking.

You series use the radar in AA, it doesn’t make sense, it’s better to aim without it, at least the plane doesn’t know that something is flying into it, f117a will be pointless

? The stinger and strela can both absolutely reach out and touch you at 5-6km altitude above the ground, which is where you’ll be when doing this at some point unless you are super committed to staying in heaven. The alternative is toss bombing…

When said plane has only 2 bombs and a LOT of downsides…

Both of those have a max range of 5km. So engaging a plane bombing you from 8-6km is at best case on the fringe of the WEZ

And the Stinger is not getting a lock on a 117 unless it’s terribly modeled.

No… they don’t. Planes with shitty FMs diving from space also lack options for maneuvering.

Once again… Type 93 and contrast seeker. That is what I was referring to. The stinger would also ABSOLUTELY get a lock irl on a F-117 since it has far more going on to GET the lock than the F-117 does to PREVENT it. Stingers in WT are garbage compared to irl.

Type 93 and Strela both show the same 5,000m range

It’s a misnomer.
There is an supposed story going around that it was called an F-117 because they wanted pilots from the F/A line of training to fly it. But were concerned their top pilots wouldn’t want to fly it if it wasn’t a cool fighter.

But the real reason is most likely to confuse the Soviets of the aircrafts actual purpose.

Dude everything the stinger uses to lock on, the F-117 has out of view.

I agree the Stinger in WT is trash. I am also a (current) stinger and ATAS qualified armament officer.

Firstly no -117 would ever be dumb enough to come down into the stingers envelope. They also flew almost exclusively at night.

But no, “IRL” a stinger would not “absolutely” get a lock on an F117. They’re actually very old and not that awesome compared to some of the newer options. We just kept em because we didn’t have a pressing need for a better system till now. Hence why the new missile the US is buying is polish 🤣

Knowing the loadout, speed, CM’s maybe it will be totally invisible to SPAA and AAM.

My guess: itll be 9.7 or so. Subsonic, no offensive weapons, small payload of only two bombs.

Itll be useless in ARB, its stealth doesnt matter when you have the nice big target marker over your head, Radar missiles at that sort of BR aren’t very common and mostly suck anyway, theres still plenty of effective gunfighters around there so its stealth literally doesnt matter.

In GRB it might be somewhat useful for a kill or two where the few IR missile SPAAs at that BR will struggle to lock it, assuming it works similar to helis, but ultimately probably wont be any more effective than the current implementation of the attack drones.

Anyone spawning a jet will still easily counter it. Its stealth works on radar, not on eyeballs.

I think that was ninja sex party “I don’t know what we’re talking about”

What?
