100% the aim7e-2 are my favourite sparrows and it isnt even close. those things are insanely reliable

I can’t back it up with anything but I think that maybe the AIM-7E-2 and F-4E radar being simpler than later missiles is what makes them feel more reliable. Stuff like amraams, you have to make sure the square is on the enemy and even then it might miss
As far as I know all swing wing aircraft have both their radar and IR signatures too far forward, I’ve observed the same issue on the F-111. It’s a recent bug
