I am not talking about the Marder Roland 1s, but rather the VEAK 40 self-propelled anti-air gun. On average, how many of its shots actually score a hit on the targeted aircraft? Can it lock friendly aircraft and perform a Blue-on-Blue kill?
In my experience, VEAK 40s are either a hit or miss. It feels very map dependent as some maps just allow you to sneak up to the enemy airfield which stop the VEAK 40s from killing you. On some occassions, I’ve (somehow) been able to loiter at the enemy airbase and take out a few AAA due to how inaccurate they are. Other times they obliterate you. I’ve somehow had a dogfight above an enemy airfield while their VEAK 40s and Roland 1s fired at me (I lost). I wouldn’t say they are a good defense. I don’t think VEAK 40s will lock onto friendly aircraft, and Blue-on-Blue probably would only happen if you just so happen to flight directly in front of where they are firing.Honestly, AAA at higher tiers just suck a defending to where it isn’t so difficult to just camp the airbase and take out all air defenses, albeit you do need some luck.
