I think PvE is even crucial. No matter where i look, people care more about PvE then PvP,.
Even games that are know, if not outright made for PvP feel that.
The most importend gamemode for Call of Duty is there Zombies Co-op mode and when Overwatch 2 was announced, most people cared about the PvE.
Heck, on of WTs competitors lifes alone from PvE missions and even new gamemodes being add. Armored Warfare.
But most importendly, PvE would remove alot of the abusive and negative behaviour from the game. If people don´t face eachother, the primary reason for them to get mad at each other is gone.
PVP the players provide the targets. PVE Gaijin would have to actually create actually “AI” bots that can provide a similar challenge to players. That would be expensive when they can get their users to provide “the content” for free.
The PVE modes are kind of boring/repetitive (and I even like them). Heli PVE has players because its how you grind helicopters so they are useable in other modes.
I’m surprised the game has the PVE modes honestly. But I guess it keeps a small subset of players who don’t like PVP in the game.
The problem is that many/most(?) players only have time for short random battles, or they are conditioned by Gaijin to expect/like them. World War mode has PVE elements as well as EC. But neither are popular without incentives to play them.
World War mode and EC aren´r popular right now because they are barely available and when then only mostly for simulator. In case of short matches, EC allows you to jump in and out when you want (No crewlocks, another advantage).
Also, why bother with bots that can provide a similar challenge to players. We are talking here about a different way of designing gameplay and gaijin has already lots of AI and objective design work done in WT. They just need to work on that, instead of trying to somehow cram Raytraceing into there decade old spagetty code engine.
Seriously, everyone i know playing this game cares first and formost about playing the vehicles. The targets providing a challenge has second to non-priority.
I want to play Vehicle and i want plenty of different targets and objectives to use all the functionality taht vehicles has to offer.
You know what i don´t want ? Someone interupting my joyride and i only see that fairly happening if all players are on one side.
If you want to play warthunder as PvE feel free to do so in the PvE game mode.
I dont want to play warthunder PvE because i find warthunder PvE incredibly boring but your suggestion would take away my choice to play PvP game mode.
PvP doesn´t have to entirly go, but i think it would be better suited in form of the WT league, where things are alot more balanced.
Like, seriously, makeing the game centered around PvE would fix so much. Problems like Bomber balance and CAS. You can now balance taht by balancing teh reaction of teh AI, something gaijin already does. Adjusting aggresiveness and accuracy for example.
I support RB-EC and maybe replacing air RB entirely with it.
I do think the current RB “team deathmatch last man standing” mode should be relegated to something else.
Ace Combat Infinity style “competitive PVE” where two teams work together to rack up a higher score then the other team would be fun for an event, though.
Yeah those games were originally made and advertised as PvE, warthunder has always been PvP changing now would kill the game because 95% of players do not want a PvE only game
