Hover mode for VTOL aircraft in simulator battles

VTOL aircraft like the AV-8B has hover mode available when flying in RB but seems to be not available in sim. Is this intentional? Am I missing something?

The mode exists more or less in sim but it activates automatically from a certain speed (I’m really not sure how it works)

I think it doesn’t exist there. But you can change stabilization system to auto-horizon, this helps a bit.

I don’t remember harrier had it irl

Set your controls to SAS: Damping and then VTOL landing is extremely easy. Especially in the Harrier IIs. Just make sure you aren’t hauling loads of fuel because you’ll drop like a rock if you try.
