Apparently the change to geared turbines and “Admiralty” boilers saved 2800 tons …
Don’t forget the Sea Harrier still has place holder radar and cockpit
My concern (which won’t keep me from grinding this) is that Gaijin has no problem putting in a ship that was never built (Kronshtadt) with stats that assume the best possible performance, but also creates a ship that has over 30 years of combat data, statistics, and engineering data that isn’t its best version.
No need to “balance” this ship by denying it historical shell types for instance. It’s top tier and top BR. Give it what it historically had and worry about balancing it after the trees are decompressed.
Couldn’t agree more, though a small part of me does wonder about the fact that the Devs are Russian. A lot of the soviet stuff seems just a little more polished.
…
Well then you should have asked kindly, as Mag says. You were very rude about it, when Mag has no obligation to answer you.
I mean, why would you suspect that it was from Wikipedia in the first place? Just LOL at this point.
“proof?” was rude?
Because the snippet he provided included coloured citations, which is exactly how online wikipedias look? The first image he posted didn’t even have the name of the ship stated in it.
Yes that was rude. And you went much further than that…
LMFAO ever heard of PDF?
Sure, but without any context whatsoever, what legitimacy does that random snippet have?
You have to digitize or photograph books and documents in whole or at least in part, in order to report to Gaijin, which is why he was showing it in PDF
And your accusation that it was from Wikipedia had any context or legitimacy? You should have just politely asked “Can I ask which book is that from?” but you didn’t, instead going on to rudely accuse him of various things without any evidence.
Agreed. Though Kron is also technically slightly “balanced” arbitrarily. Her RoF was supposed to be 3.24, but it’s just 3 in-game, presumably for balancing purposes, and the fact that such a RoF would probably have never been reached IRL had the gun actually been built and tested.
Its more the state of the HE rounds and the low dispersal that annoy me with the Kront.
Kron’s HE is the same as the Kommuna, just with a “fake” MV. It’s a lightly built shell historically used on those WW1 era 305mm guns for coastal bombardment, and not for use against surface targets.
The shell itself isn’t fake, but giving it to the Kron’s much more powerful guns(though that gun was also supposed to have a light HE shell of its own), and allowing it to be used on surface targets with no difference to normal HE shells, is kind of bias and “fake”.
You can find similar “light” HE shells on many large caliber naval guns of the time, including guns that are in-game. But only the Russians get them, and that’s bias. The dispersion is also bias, yeah.
I stand corrected. That’s quite frustrating - yet another area where Renown is outright worse than Hood (not seeing the justification for this absurd br yet!)
When it comes to this question of draft, does Friedman give draft and freeboard (and the associated loads) for the 1944 configuration? With those we might be able to measure from the model in-game to figure out where the waterline should sit.
should the torpedo filler be TNT or Torpex? gaijin likes interchanging the 2 as seen on the Wyvern’s torpedo
and shouldnt it get a search/track radar as well?
Yes, I intend grinding it. Got 4 stars, but on holiday for a few days now, however, think I’ll be back in time to get the other 4. Would have spent GEs to make up one or two stars if necessary when I saw it was in its 44 fit and would, therefore, have VT on the secondaries…. Now I’ve read the thread and see it probably won’t have VT for ‘reasons.’ Anyone still doubt the existence of the British tax?
I’ll still get Renown if possible, as it looks good and I’ve got all the Royal Navy TT ships plus many of the premium/event destroyers. Not so sure I’ll throw GEs at any stars I fail to grind though. WTG Gaijoob: how to ****-up a potential sale.
