I would swap out my four Sea Fury Hispano Mk.V’s for a single .50cal any day. .50cals perform how Hispanos should and Hispano’s perform how .50s should.

I’ve not had issues in a while. (Like a year or 2 bar the few weeks after an update earlier this year)

What belts you using?

Hitsparkos are a do no damage on first volley and then become a hydrogen bomb the next.

Use air belts but ground belts are near identical in oomph

I use GT belts to avoid as many SAP shells as possible(they’re horrendous and underperform/outright don’t work half of the time), definite improvement but still Hisparko’s.

E: Have used Air belts for a long long time and still had the Hisparko outcome. Will try stealth for a few games.

I favour stealth belts. Max HE seems to work quite well for me

Try air target or my personal preference, stealth belts

Tracer is a must with how incorrect crosshairs always are in RB. its my main problem with ADEN 25mm

Sorry mate, edited it in just before you replied

Only gun I run tracers on is the 30mm ADEN.

The advantage even in RB of not altering the target youve fired until rounds have started impacting is pretty good.

Even the 303s I run stealth

Next time you get an instance where you have something tanking a lot of hits. Can you share a recording or the replay please?

Might give more information as to what is going

Yes will do, regardless Hispano’s spark/‘hit’ a ridiculous amount compared to other 20mils. The ballistics seem way off. Russian 20mm seem to nuke everything, and U.S .50’s have the ballistic performance of 30mils.

Soviet 20mm are generally really good because of a high RoF and ease of aiming.

50cals again, tend to be a lot of hits in a concentrated area really quickly.

Hispanos I find will blow something apart with a good burst, but you need to land the full burst onto the target for that, on stuff like the spitfire that can be tricky with their wing mounted position…but I’ve never really felt anything taking an ungodly amount of damage to die, usually a 1 or so second burst does the job.

Also where your aiming might impact to, but that can be difficult to control in the fight.

What conversation are you using? Ive heard that hispanos have a damage drop off past 500m and.whilst I’ve never seen concrete confirmation of that, it does seem to work quite well for me

700m

Try 400-500 as well

Just done my due diligence

They feel fine:

Try mg 151/20 and you will change your mind about hispanos

I think your clip shows the solution to the problem.
You hit him in full profile.
After all these ammo updates the ammo seems to be extremely angle sensitive.
Full rear aspect you do sh**. Sometimes I need more than 100 rounds 30mm of modern guns in rear aspect.
90° like in your clip one round or a short burst is enough most of the time.

But the US bias is obvious.
Doesn’t matter which US cannon I use, wing- or nose-mounted, they hit way better than anything else.
Browning-Colt Mk12 Mod 3 shreds everything with a view rounds.
The only more reliable cannon outside US is the ShVAK with tracer belt full of FI-T to me.

No

Long time ago I used 800m because I flew Horten a lot.
With the cannon nerf on the Horten I changed it to 500m because longe range shots aren’t possible anymore. And I still use 500m on every plane.
Additionally you need less ammo on ground targets, because at this range you hit harder.
