High tier airfield AAA should be seriously nerfed if not entirely removed

i dont have experience on sim but on air rb is at least quite annoying,
since you can have an f5 that is floor hugging and just flying arround his base and you cant do anything about it because of the instant death zone that is airfields

the other idea i have could be just to make it so the airfield takes like a minute to reload after a while so people airfield camping can just be vulnerable for a few seconds at least, with that you have enough time to land and rearm but doesnt allow you to be immune after taking off

I think you’re still just shifting the issue to the other side. Imagine you’re in the opposite situation; you’ve just landed to rearm and can’t take off after you re-spawned because there are two enemies hovering above your airfield just outside of AA range. That doesn’t sound very fun to me at least (and many others here on the forum as well, just search for “camping airfield” and you’ll see the general opinions).

You can see the opposite scenario in mid tier on some maps. The af aa is too weak or you can avoid it very easily, so if you rtb you get swarmed by several enemies without any chance to do something.

The other paradox thing: Everyone is begging for longer matches especially in high tier and you want to make it shorter.

Forgot to address air RB in my post as well.
Air RB I don’t see much airfield camping. I see people go to their airfields to leave far more than I see people go to their airfields to camp, but I also play 5.0 - 14.3, less so the low BRs.

I think I saw 2? airfield campers camping their own airfield in the last month. It’s pretty notable due to how rare it is in my matches. Of course, this is my experience, yours may differ.
Maybe you’re just getting terrible luck in that regard.

I get the teams that leave early while I’m hitting ground targets then I get mad cause I could’ve gotten more score. XD
Not mad at anyone though, just mad at the lack of score.

They made 10.7 and above have VT1 as AF defense.

a.k.a. A7E always meets VT1. Mig21S meets it in uptiers

12km death bubble, no rwr warning due to bands, no msl mark for that’s short rocket time VT1, and no estimation of range by locking red names for beyond 10km.

Easy asf AF camping tbh

And vice versa the already winning team need to spend rewardless effort watching the guy to make sure he never comes back. For the winning.

Airfield camp is always 2 sided and the only solution may be removing the need to exit without a living team

I am getting strafed when reloading.
How about we make AAA instantly vaporize anyone entering 3km within airfields, and if someone camps then the AAA gets disabled? I think this should solve all the problems we’re having.

You all keep repeating this, but the air defenses are easy to dodge as long as it is not flak at close range. This is a legit case of skill issue.

EDIT: Flying in a straight line 2km in the air at the airfield is a surefire way to get killed, going from low to the ground makes it almost impossible for the missiles to hit you. On some maps, you can even get lower than the airfield, making it 10x easier to ambush someone rearming/repairing.

An idle timer is all that’s necessary.
One say 30 seconds longer than the on-airfield idle timer.

Nah, you just want to strafe airfields. You can already do this rn if you have skill so my suggestion is to learn how.

You can consistently get close to the airfield (within 1-2km) without getting shot down by not flying high in the air.

and the VT-1 is not an omnipotent killing machine, you just have a skill issue

Classic. We aren’t talking about Player VT1. And we aren’t about TT.

Cool I can climb and camp as defender with ease, and good luck with our inconsistent terrain xD.

Or I can simply cut sideways into the zone when running away. Come chase the last guy, or lose fun xD

And I haven’t seen an enemy who has done the rush these days. Not even on that island, when f5s can easily approach into 2km to pop up to death.

We are talking about how you have a skill issue and cant dodge missiles

On any map that has terrain you can easily still avoid missile AA.
