Hidden AGM-65 Maverick Nerf

After playing the F-111F and A-10A, I noticed I couldn’t launch Mavericks from above. The problem turned out to be that my plane wasn’t facing the target. Some patch or update added launch angle restrictions. I couldn’t find any feedback on this online.

Before the nerf.

After the nerf.

Mavericks have a launch range of 10 km and a flight range of 13 km. But you can’t launch them from high altitude; you have to dive.

Kh-29 and other missiles don’t have this problem. This was done exclusively for the Mavericks.

Kh-29

So, did I understand correctly? The Gaijins, after introducing the Kh-38MT, are they nerfing the US’s only CAS missile, the AGM-65?

I mean it makes sense, the early agm65s dont exactly have inertial guidance so they do need a target lock or point lock to be in their fov for them to be fired

Is this logical?

what do winrates have to do with changes like this?

You mean as it makes sense as the KH38MT doesnt exist?

actually no, ive just looked and youve completely misunderstood what has changed

the reason you say the kh29 hasnt changed is because that is from the sight of the kh29 itself, whereas your clips of it for the agm65 are from a laser targeting pod

heres the size of the targeting zone on the a10a

barely limited

it exists as much as half the things in warthunder bro

KH29 do not have a limit like that

The size of the targeting zone does not change… the A10a just has a dogshit of a sight lol

doesnt really matter, cause if you launch without them seeing the target they still wont hit it

Also with a targeting point the KH29 has no limit

Yes they do, they pull in with a point lock and then get a track lock

then go find some sources that say they cant do that and make a bug report

the sight isnt from the a10, its the missile itself

This post is about balancing, not historic accuracy

Yes, it is dog

There where launch angle adjustments made in line with those specified in an F-16 manual that is widely available online, that was ages ago though.

not on the a10a, the only sights are from any ordnance that have sights
