Couldn’t agree more, this comment is 100% on point.
That’s not something you can alter with map design, simple as. The one suggestion I’ve seen that might have a noticeable ripple effect, is replacing spawn points with a spawn zone that encompasses the entire side of the map that your spawns used to be on: you pick a grid square in column 1, or column 8, and spawn there.
That sounds like a good idea in principle because no team could possibly control all of that even in the most steamrolly of situations, but you would have to change all the maps to make it balanced, so I’m not holding my breath in that regard.
Other than that, really this isn’t a map issue, it’s a game mode and mission type issue. And because WT is such a success, one can hardly blame Gaijin for not wanting to take too many liberties when it comes to tinkering with their winning formula. And it’s not all that clear that a solid majority of players would be onboard with a massive change to this mode.
So at the end of the day for me the best solution is to show initiative ourselves. If someone has a good idea to test and they think it can work, set up the mission through the CDK and gather players around you to playtest it. Upload the results on YouTube. Build interest.
If players respond positively, eventually Gaijin will follow.
Interesting that of the map “choices”, we currently have, like, dislike and ban, we don’t have the option to select either large maps, small maps or both. We even have the option to play or not play night battles so why not allow us to choose map size?
I’d think that is having this option would allow Gaijin to gather more accurate data about map preferences in addition to giving us the ability to play on the type of maps we want to play.
I’m not a fan of small maps as I prefer the larger maps more suited to tank combat with a more diverse play style than that is available on small maps.
If they continue to downsize the maps, they are going to lose a lot of players because it’s not right to have a head-to-head battle with no room to maneuver after the last 11 years I spent thousands of dollars on this game and I will not spend a penny more if the maps are downsized anymore end of the story and taking out all the sniping hillsides or mountain tops away from us players is bad, to begin with, oh they’re killing us too badly oh well they’re sniping us Boo Hoo Hoo cry me a river but that how Tanks do their thing in tank battles is by taking the high ground and set up crossfires to
Look at what BioWare E/A games have done with Mass Effect Andromeda the graphics are outstanding and the maps are huge of course they do things right and not half Ass! Like trees disappearing into the ground after you run them over and radar being able to scan through trees and buildings
So they have been listening to new players who will saying anything to catch up, they will soon run out of them as they will soon get board with just hitting w
As far as I’m concerned World of Tanks has died off years ago that’s why I quit World of Tanks and started playing War Thunder when the tanks came out! And now I guess I have to cough up another $115.00 to buy the new Steel Beasts Pro PE now that is a SIM it’s more than just a game and it even has troops in it to do scouting missions to find the enemy tanks
Oh absolutely. It’s embarrassing that WT has CoD-style forehead glitching when the in-absolutely-no-way-a-sim Battlefield series has had proper optic offset for both vehicles and small arms for a decade now.
Not to mention that removing it would actually take less getting used to in AB, due to the pen/drop indicator accounting for barrel obstacles.
And why is thay relevant? “It has always been like this” why is that relevant? Its still stupid it would make the game unseniably better if it wasnt like this. It would add am extra degree of skill amd immersion to the game.
