I’m not aware of that, can you share photos?
Spoiler
While I appreciate the photos, the clarity is not enough to see the markings on the side, that could be a number of different variants or even dummy/inert missiles.
Plus note, there’s zero chance they would advertise a live missile at an airshow anyway

Well the missile definitely exists, now I can’t say about its IR version, and it seems that it was used for the first time (I won’t mention the conflict due to forum rules)
I believe the IR seeker is the issue, the missile itself is very real and has been used in combat in Syria as we as current conflicts in it’s SAL configuration. My best guess is that the KH-38 follows Russia’s usual doctrine of producing a modular missile and that while the IR seekers are available, nobody has thought that the advantages out way the extra costs.
I have no doubt the KH38 platform exists I just don’t believe the MT version does at least for now. I hope said conflict ends sooner than later :(
Yes, it exists and has been used a few times. There may even be an IR version that may or may not be used due to costs, etc., like the R27EA, which exists but there are few photos and will not be used. Most likely, the most widely used versions will be the GLONASS-guided versions for strategic targets or laser-guided versions to destroy armored vehicles or ships, as used by the KA52 and the Su34. Regarding the conflict, I prefer to refrain from giving my opinion and not expressing my geopolitical side here on the forum.
The MT - IR version is what we are skeptical exists. I do not want the KH38 platform removed but just that one variant
I don’t want it to be removed either, I wouldn’t mind the IR version being removed, I really like the ML version, it’s great for urban maps
Well then how are they KH-38s reaching targets if no IR is integrated into the seeker head? The footage of them being used is quite popular, the characteristics of this missile is not, plus abbreviations such as MT-ML are just that abbreviations and designations. However, I do agree that gajiin does rush a lot of tech way ahead of its time, take it easy and improve upon maps.
ML is the laser guided version like many other missiles, brimstones, hellfires, and others.
ML is manually guided to target
MT is lock, fire and forget
There are two sides to this missile, its existence in the game has opened up space for more western missiles that are comparable and new AAA
The new AAA is not perfect unfortunately. I played in the dev server and was able to defeat new AAA with slow AGM-65D. I believe Pantsir is still better than new AAA
Well that is what we are trying to find out are they fire and forget or not, the missiles in the footage, but we will never know until info is available. However as I said rushing a lot of tech into our game is not always optimal.
True it has done that and we will definitely get more western missiles in, sometimes I wonder adding this many this fast is what might be causing the issue.
The missiles have a lot of drag and lose speed drastically, but the pantsir missile has a different guidance system, but even so it is good to receive these new AAA although they may not be as they should be, but it will make CAS players think a few times before trying to venture freely, the CAS is so absurd that I say something from my own experience, not even the pantsir is able to handle the swarm of CAS, they look like pests.
X-38мл = KH-38ML
Х-38МТЭ = KH-38MT
Х-38МТ = KH-38MT* Х-38МТЭ is MTE (MT export)
Rosoboronexport lists the Kh-38 as available with IR guidance, so a compatible seeker exists and I would assume has been tested.
But honestly the MT probably should go for balance reasons regardless, at least for the time being.
or the r2y2
or the coelian
or the panther 2
or the tiger 2 105
oh wait what happened to those :0
