Hi everyone,
I’m having trouble effectively using the AIM-7P Sparrow missile, and I also struggle to evade high-tier missiles like SARH (e.g. R-27ER), IR-guided (e.g. R-73), and combinations like SARH+IOG+DL.
Could you please share some tips or tactics for:
- How to properly use the AIM-7P — I often manage to hit targets flying directly toward or away from me, but I struggle to hit targets flying perpendicular (at 90 degrees).
- How to evade missiles like the R-73, R-73-1, R-27ER, and R-27ET — I play at BR 12.7 on the F/A-18C Early. Most of the time I face players using American or Soviet aircraft.
I use flares and try to cut the afterburner when evading IR missiles, but R-27ET and especially R-27ER often still hit me. Flares seem ineffective even when I time them well and mask the engine heat. I’d appreciate any help with understanding better evasion techniques and countermeasures.
