Helicopter's max BR needs to be increased

Yes I fly low, and use my ATGMs on spaa. And typically carry 4 S-24s

I straight up took my heli out of my lineup. Downtiers are the only time I can get away with doing anything, although a plane still evens the odds…

The spaa is wickedly strong at 9.3, and the CAPs are just a-holes, looking for free kills

What AAs are clapping you and in what helicopter ?

Gepard, Santal, Ozelot, etc.

Stingers go through ircm and flares like nothing, even after banking and dumping flares

Not to mention the planes who solely kills helicopters, especially right after take off.

but it is

Ka-52’s absolute max range is 10km, but in practice it’s more like 8km.
AH-64’s absolute max range is 8km, but in practice it’s more like 6km.

Vikhirs are much faster and more responsive than hellfires.

Though hellfires do have IOG, Vikhirs are generally better against competent SPAAs.

it’s not. Effective range is what we’re talking about here, not it’s range in a perfect environment.

Those shouldn’t be able to touch you beyond 3km, so you should be fine in plenty of 9.7 helicopters.

Yeah, Pretty much only the Strela can lock helis beyond 3-3.5km the others. why that godforsaken fat hind needed to get within 1.8km before my ozelot could lock n’ send it’s stinger gonna irk me forever

Type 93 and 81 can do it as well.

Brother, the mi-24D is a 8.7…

And it’s ircm barely if at all works, in fact it may work so bad, it gives extra range to those spaa.

Also, no the Ozelot outranges the Falangas of the Mi-24D

Well, 9.7 AA should be able to defend itself against 8.7 helicopter.

Falanga has more than 3km of range.

Check again, stingers out range the Mi-24D.

And the Mi-24D at best can fling a few S-24s and hope that they hit close

Falanga has a 4km range, Stingers aren’t locking you from that far out.

Screen shot both. I couldn’t find my post with previous photos disputing this

Check on wiki, it has a 4km range.

The wiki isn’t exactly always right…

Well, they’ve somewhat standardized it, so I believe it is.

Says 4km in-game too.

Be fair. You never use the full range of the ATGMS with the helicopter. Either you can’t see anything, or the speed of the rockets will negate every other attack because the target has minutes to take cover. Even if it was accidentally.

Nevertheless, you regularly receive radar warnings from the dangerous flaks. His Premium Heli already has it on 8.7. So I don’t really understand why he gets shot down by them before he can at least take out a target.

Well, you don’t necessarily have to use all the 4km to feel the effect of the extra range.
Let’s say most ATGMs start becoming sluggish past 75% of their theoretical max range.
For the Falanga, it would probably feel fine below 3km.
As for the ITOWs (which have 3.75km max range), they would probably feel fine below 2.8km.
The difference in distance is rather small, I admit, but you may feel that it is easier to land hits with the Falanga than with the ITOW, and possibly reduce the likelihood of SPAA hitting you too.
