Helicopters are now unplayable due to new module system

I used to enjoy playing the more nimble helis like the UHT since you can pop in and out, surgically killing enemy AA and such, constantly staying behind cover and alert was a fun way to play but now it is mindless, even in the most enjoyable helis

i think its realestic, even an small explosion near a heli can knock it out of service, unrealestic immortal helis like ka50 before this update are annouying, unfair and unrealestic

I mean, a small amount of .50 cal fire shouldn’t stop a heli in its tracks.

They have little to no armor because well they are helicopters. The metal is thin and they dont really have survivability when it comes to being shot even with small arms fire so i dont see an issue.

The problem is you will never be able to actually balance helis because they require very few skill. They either are easy “auto-kill” machines or bad ones (exaggerated ofc).

The only one who’s gonna suffer for this, are the non-meta low BR helicopters.
They were already kinda useless because the lack of ATGMs and ballistic computer for rockets, and now is even worse, making non-premium vehicles grind a PAIN.
This is another case where the bad reputation of the KA-50 ruined any other helicopter in the game.

I reckon Gaijin has really gone too far with this helicopter interior update. Sure, stopping Ka-50 and Ka-52 from flying after getting shot up is a good idea, but it’s really messed up other helicopters too. If Gaijin wants to fix how people feel about Russian choppers, they should just tweak Ka-50 and Ka-52 instead of changing everything.

Its been given to 2 helicopters so far… 2. Are you realy mad helis are actually somewhat realistic now? Most of the stories youve heard of Apaches surviving hundreds of shots is from rifle calibre rounds, so i would understand if you dont like being mg’ed out the sky by mg 3s and such. However, they should not be able to survive autocannon fire, let alone main cannon fire like they have been for years.

Usually having ATGMs is always good, no matter how they are, but recently they made it very hard to use on low-BR helicopters because of the KA-50’s Vikhrs.
A while ago they finally “nerfed” the Vikhrs because they were literally anti-everything missiles, you were able to easily hit a F16 at 7-8 km, but actually they changed the missile flight model of EVERY ATGM in the game, making the one on the low-BR helicopter very hard to use because of the jittering, and if we add that these helicopters don’t have decent zoom, it becomes incredibily hard to hit something.

Now every weak tanker that is shitposting in this topic, cried about KA-50 being immortal, and that’s true because it really was, and now that is nerfed, guess who’s going to pay for it.

The swedes would disagree (I would take rockets or guns over our shitty ATGMs any day)

“Realistic” in not being able to fire any of it weapons and use counter-measures which being dictated by Gaijin’s RNG and thenever is part of the hull is “yellow”, “red” or “black”? And why not do the same for tanks? How about every random hit have a chance to disable FCS or smoke launchers or even just optics? How about planes too, then ever straigh show have a chance of doing the same?

Have you not been paying attention recently, they have already done that for tanks lol. Plus the new damage models are only for the ka 50 and apachie from what ive seen? Low tier helies are still just as bad due to the ability to stay 3km away from the bf while only having to face autocannons. Helis really shouldnt be complaining when the game mode their in is ground rb, not heli rb.

I don’t understand all the hate about that helicopter, I found it very interesting when i tried it.
It’s of course worse with the new nerfs now, but still better then the other 7.7 helicopters for sure, in my honest opinion.

The new “detailed” damage models are only for the KA-52 and Apache; every other helicopter has a new “light” damage model that will become “detailed” with new patches. This means that, with any other helicopter, you need a single 7.62mm hit on the hull to shut down the armaments, RWR, etc., making the helicopter useless even if it can still perfectly fly.

Yes, slowly. They did not one day decided that every tank, from low BT-7 to [insert top of choice] would have a CHANCE of something not working just because it was hit

That is an absolute max for some ATGMs (like early Chinese have maximum only 3km) provided target completely still and missile doesnt wobble around (which it does). It doesnt also acount for non spaded helies which had to rely on rocket pods (yes, you can fire from greater distance, but good luck getting anything greater than “Critical hit”)

It combined arms. But yes, Gaijin should rename it to properly reflect it nature and prevent 'AcTuAlY" people from being a smart asses

I feel like tying electronic damage to the fuselage is a bit too much, now basically every helicopter without electronics will be fragile but the Ka-50/52 or whatever has the added advantage because they have the box modeled internally but not other helis.

Imagine if they did this for planes, everyone would be livid if you suddenly couldn’t fire missiles because your fuselage turned yellow because Gaijin was too lazy to model a tiny box with electronics.

Im more fed up playing tanks just to die to pricks who can first spawn helis. I would literally have no problem with them if people were not able to first spawn them and they acted more like planes.

Also, them adding that rng element to the game is stupid and so i would agree with you there. No reason a round that clips your wing takes out all your controls. But if a main apfsds sails through your compartment then maybe some damage should be taken other than a “damaged” hull which means literally nothing to a heli.
