HE shell damage in current patch

I got back to flying the Ho 229 recently to research the new C-3604.
There is a significantly noticeable reduction in the effectiveness of the MK103 guns: before, I could consistently nuke enemies in one or two hits, but now it feels like I’m shooting slow 50 cals, with the occasional 30mm shell sneaked in. I’ve seen a player complain in chat about the GSh on the Albatross, and my friend complained about the 20mm cannons on the Ki-61.

The F9F barely got damaged from getting multiple hits.

I sometimes turn enemies into Swiss cheese, but they keep flying lol.

Seems like some people reported the bug on the issue tracker already, but I’m making the issue known on the forum too, so more people become aware of the issue and make this a higher priority fix for the devs.

I can confirm this for most 20mm I have used yesterday (mostly Japanese 99 mk 1 and mk 2, Ho-5, German Mg-151). Most shells that contact do no damage, and every now and then I get a single lucky shell taking the plane down. Right now I decided to wait with playing until the issue is fixed.

Today, I flew the J7W1 and intercepted a B17. The belt is HEF-T (30mm).
In the past, 1-2 shots would cause significant damage, but today, even after hitting it about 5 times (about 10 times including sparks), it only showed “hit,” and instead, I was hit by a 50-caliber API and caught fire.

The 30mm was particularly noticeable, but I also felt that the damage from the 12.7mm MG Ho-103, including HEFI, had decreased. I’m not sure if this is a bug or an intentional setting change.

I see too few people complaining about this. Do the players even notice it?
This is significantly affecting the gameplay. I don’t even know if this is intentional or not, as far as I’m aware there is no mention of the change in the HE-shell behavior. I think this is a glitch.

Why would gaijin change the performance of the shells? I’m pretty sure my 7.62mm mg does that amount of damage (in that amount of time, not per bullet)

Many players hardly notice the changes in damage cuz they either barely hit their shots… or they use the wrong belts for air to air combat for the longest time or they just have like 0 awareness which is too common lol.

It’s not intentional, thankfully.
Props are borderline unplayable right now, unless you use .50 cals.
