Actual legend, I hope something actually comes of this though. Will be gutting for it to either be a dead end or the devs to just ignore it.
Hopes are up, expectations are low
While looking for sources on Hawk I stumbled upon this bit, but I didn’t think it was conclusive enough on it’s own. However, in light of your discovery it might help?

Source is “British Aerospace Hawk: Armed Light Attack and Multi-Combat Fighter Trainer” by Dave Windle (2010), page 58. Available for free on Internet Archive link
I think it’s important that it says radar and a pair of guns, not or
Yeah this is how i got a tiny bit of info on the strikemaster with miniguns, those guys are real top lads/lasses.
Gaijin though - “30mm guns it is. 12.0 br” :p
That was the intention yes, but it was never done as by the development of the RDA they’d given up on the 25mm ADENs. What we’re trying to figure out is if ZJ201 ever had a 30mm gunpod fitted like the production models have, as the underside it slightly different to the later variants.
I see, thanks!
There is 1 source that suggests the radar could be fitted with a single 25mm ADEN. It has already been sent on but is being considered a secondary source unfortunately
The issue there is ZJ201 hasn’t been seen with gun ports
which is the exact airframe we’re getting in game
I’m sorry if it’s a bit cliche at this point, but I can’t resist the urge to bring up Yak-141 and how it got it’s planned equipment despite being cancelled.
Thought experiment: If the Hawk 200 was cancelled after the radar plans were drawn, but before the ADEN 25 was scrapped, then we could’ve had it in-game in that configuration? Or am I wrong?
Not to say the couldn’t just plaster the ports over, but we’d need evidence on the RDA for that
The BAC 1-11 strikes again
Some old BAe media team VHS footage of Hawk 100 and 200 in Oman and Malaysia
Nothing all that useful but it’s nice footage.
Oman video has some interesting bits like brief cockpit footage showing imagery from Hawk 103’s nose FLIR, the avionics lab test/calibration rig for the APG-66 radar, and a ground test release with a UK 1000lb bomb.
At least we’re still using the Avro RJ100 on other programmes. I feel like these radar test beds are the only heritage aircraft we have from these past companies going at the moment.
I kinda wish BAE had named their R&D divisions or sites after the companies it absorbed. Can you for example imagine if during EAP you’d read the press release ‘British Aerospace unveils EAP developed by Supermarine/Hawker/English Electric’
Falconworks is cool and all but Supermarine
Proof to get 4 Skytrash
??? what
Yes. I’m also going to make a suggestion for the most modern Swordfish on some have heard of…
No, I’m confused as that photo doesn’t show anything of the sort. It has Skyflash on the expected pylon, like on ZJ201 found on dev now.
oh… thought it was on the next outer pylon
Legendary!!! <3
