That is why I’m going to limit myself to it as I don’t feel confident to talk about air.
So are there any ground maps that contradict what I have said?

I am not certain. Most of the times i only see the maps from above and i don’t bother to remember much about the maps when playing tanks.
LOL WHAT
Technically yes, but due to alt advantage functionally no. Spawncamping is a pretty big issue in AAB to this day.
I never said it isn’t. Read again.
I said that you cannot spawncamp with impunity, with the enemy not being able to hit you. That was the claim i rebuked.
Arguable somewhat at higher tiers given AAMs, but fair point. Not really much you can do vs a diving 109 on your ass tbf.
gunpod meta gunpod meta
Of course, you start with enough energy to nose up and fire back. So there is always some threat for the spawncamper.
Please dont do this
This is like
The worst way to deal with spawncampers lmao
Then I will try energy trapping instead headon.
Congratulations! You are returned to hangar!
Sure, again the point was, that you can’t do it with impunity, not that your can’'t do it at all.
why is that distinction such a problem?
To do an energy trap without getting into the enemy’s line of fire is to be one of the easiest things to do when spawn camping on Bf 109.
J2Ms and P47, Fw 190 Ds can do same things.
The hardest aircraft to do that as far as I know is the Spitfire because they has really bad energy retention.
BTW
sorrxy but most rounds fly 1.5 km this guy was hittable, they didn
't and it is unlikely but not impossible.
Getting a hit on an aircraft flying 1.5 km away was hard even for a pre drag nerfs on 50cals(before 2022), and since he was doing a rudder turn while energy trapping, it was almost impossible for the enemy team to get a hit off of him.
You obviously have no knowledge of spawn camping…
No i understand spwancamping. Again you are right that it’s hard at 1.5km… but it is possible. That’s the point, and you are missing it.
i am not saying that defense is easy or efficient, i said it is possible. And you are confirming it.
Not seen this old post before .Definite yes from me and I think its to Warthunders detriment in many ways that they abandoned eras.Yes they will lose fans and gain others when they could keep the old fans and gain new ones. That is Gaijins choice. However I could also say that having played a t80 recently that it was still point and shoot and I may as well have been in a BT5 for all the difference it made.Same maps same old objective.
No real effort on their part. Just hey new model and premium. Now give us money. Bad cqb gameplay that is even worse than it used to be. Maps are atrocious. They brought all modern tanks and made this game a glorified Counter Strike with boxes that shoot and quick twitch
I definitely feel that high tier ground is awful and not getting better, in fact going the other way. The gameplay is poor, but the maps are even worse. I honestly think that they do not know where to go with ground now that they are hitting vehicles that have nor even reached operations yet (Namer 30 and others for instance. Their inconsistent logic on balancing vehicles is also not a plus.
For air, I fear that if top tier does not go to a straight 8v8 mode that it too is deteriorating into a brainless missile fest furball that bears no resemblance to “realistic” battles as the marketing suggests.
TBH, It would be nice if we can play old game version as limited time event just like WoT Classic.
Of course, not all of the old ones were good, but for older players it is a chance to reminisce about those days, and for new players it is a good chance to see what War Thunder used to be like.
Oh great, so we can play WT at the hight of Bomber ABuse gunships?
Oh boy such great memories. /s
Reminder B-17 had broken damage models
More than just the damage models, the auto gunners were insane.
WT was bad back then.
