I havent played air for around 3 months now but started again with playing them for the dreams come true event. The first thing ive noticed is that every map has airspawns now that spread out the players quite a lot. I mostly play around the 9.7-11.3 area
With that change, i dont know if i am tripping, i have the feeling that the overall matchquality somehow decreased even further and that the matches have become even more chaotic then before with it also being even harder to get into brawls with other players as now it feels like there is always someone within 5km of you.
If this only my perception or did this spawn change shake up the gameplay a lot.
Nothing changed in my view. I play 1.0-10.3.
RB has become AB+.
Games over mostly over in 5-6mins.
Fling missiles, do head on’s, die, new game.

Match quality tanks during grind events.
Sure, i know that people are hyper desperate for points and that match quality tanks during events. But after having played 5000 air battles i can say that something even considering the event feels very different to before. Which i am linking to these new type of spawns in air
A arcade and easy way for new players and sell more premiums, avoid the risk of take off. I hate it
I think air spawns have unquestionably changed balance… I am in favor of the mechanic as a whole (U.S. prop player, so obvious self interest there) though.
That said, the number of people that don’t take advantage of the air spawn and fly straight in? Depressing.
A VL Pyörremyrsky with an air spawn is one of the most busted things I’ve encountered since the patch…

Not fast enough, needed to scroll through TikTok on the second screen while subway surfers gameplay was playing on my third
I just notice that the combat starts faster bc you dont waste time taking off, but the overall gameplay and missile spam still same
They basically exasperated the issue of 5 minutes curb stomp games by making them into 3 minute games.
If they want to chain me to AB mechanic at least give me AB multiple spawn. make ticket bleed the win condition.
I have only played up to 11.3 recently, but from my experience at 10.7+ top BR games it does ruin match quality. In my opinion it’s due to the fact that at these BRs the spawn width is so large even if a team wants to group together for cohesion it takes a significant amount of time repositioning. As a result it seems everyone flies straight in and its just a complete diceroll on what happens during merge.
The difference of spawn speed is the most annoying to me.
For example:
Harrier GR7 12.3 : 800kph ish
F/A 18 A 12.3 : 1450kph ish, way above top speed.
I’ve said this before but it’s literally to cater to new players buying top tier premiums. They’re unable to take off normally ( they crash, what is basic mechanics right).
It’s basically dumbing down the entire thing.
( Let us not forget that most of the rewards are a consequence of time in battle, not just kills. As it is right now the rewards are SEVERELY nerfed, further extending the grind and wasting time)
I love the airspawns, taking off always seemed as a pointless waste of time to stretch the match out.
The air spawns added a bit more realism and balance.
It’ll also allow for many friendly airfields in the future rather than just the two.
I missed the airfield spawn, mostly because you can look at the beautiful decals and camo of other planes.
