go play some 7.7 or 8.0-8.3 and tell me how many uptiers you get, then get back to me. I don’t care about if it’s balanced in ontiers, the matchmaker is utterly fucked and something needs to happen to it
I’ve played 7.7 somewhat recently and I’ve rarely gotten full uptiers. Usually it’s 8.0 / 8.3 or even full downtiers.
And you can’t just ‘not care’ about balancing in other BRs. The game shouldn’t revolve around a specific BR.
yeah sure man, I’ve lost track of how many games I play where the entire lineup (minus the meteor) costs 100 SP. Here’s a hint, it’s fucking most of them.
You are an american main. You play a nation that is way less affected by the fucked up matchmaker because you aren’t shooting at T58s. I’m not saying to revolve the game around 7.7, I’m saying that the matchmaker around 8.7 is fucked beyond belief because 2 of the big 3 have broken bullshit at that BR range. Between the American unholy trinity (T58, XM800, XM246) and the TurmGepard shit, it’s egregious and needs to be dealt with. Putting these to 9.3 is a completely fair thing to do because it not only frees 7.7 from constant full uptiers thanks to “people” who queue for these BRs exclusively because the broken shit is there, it also means that there’s one single part of the 8.x BR bracket that does not see them. Downtiers are the exact same reason I don’t think the Churchill VII can come back to 4.7 despite not really deserving 5.0 on its own merits. It’s not remotely fair to make 3.7 players play against something like that.
Hey, it’s my word against yours.
Used to be one, sure.
I don’t play one nation anymore.
Again, you’re assuming I only play USA. Check what I have.
You literally said you don’t care about how the Turm III would be balanced at higher BRs so long as it doesn’t face 7.7:
You can argue that, and I agree with you. But putting some of them to 9.3 is unwarranted, and defeats the purpose of having those SPAAs at those BRs.
USA would then have a 7.3 - 9.3 SPAA gap, and Germany would have a 7.3 - 9.7 SPAA gap.
So unless you’re planning on adding some SPAAs for them within those BR ranges, it’s not really a good balancing idea.
Again, I think the Turm III is fine at 8.7, and could possibly go to 9.0. But putting it to 9.3 is unreasonable.
Just because you don’t like facing it, doesn’t mean that it should be moved up by two BR brackets.
A lot of 8.0s / 8.3s / 8.7s can deal with it so long as they are aware of it. And a lot of 8.0s (like the Leopard 1, BMP-1, M60 / Magach 3 / Magach 6, T-54s (arguably), and Marder 1A3) shouldn’t be at 8.0 to begin with.
I mean, take the Conqueror for example. If the matchmaker suited 7.7 a lot, would you say it should go up to 8.0 or even 8.3? The poor T26E5 can’t do anything to it when its hull-down and the Conqueror can shoot the T26E5 anywhere. That doesn’t sound very fair now, does it?
That’s good, but I’d say Churchill VII can hold its own weight even at 5.0. Uptiers are almost always a problem for heavies to be honest with you. Especially heavies with great armour but mediocre guns.
I don’t think its problems are truly greater than something like the Jumbo 75’s in a full uptier, for example. That being said, a lot of 6.3s / 6.7s should go up.
Agreed.
Even without APHE, 8.3 is far too low for the Gepards.
Maybe 8.7, sure.
9.0 should be minimum for all Gepards, with the Za-35 and Leo 2 Marksman at 9.3.
No. They cannot reliably stop MCLOS aircraft.
Nor should they. A singular 70sp vehicle shouldn’t make it impossible to play a 700sp vehicle. CAP should be the primary counter to CAS, not SPAA.
But that’s the thing, not a lot of ground players have CAP, let alone CAP at the correct BR, to impede their attacks.
You’re effectively asking the ground community to play air.
It’s not my fault if people are lazy and want to handicap themselves. It’s obvious from rank 1 that GAB, GRB, and GSB are all combined arms battles. If it takes players until 9.0 to realize that, then the fault is entirely on them.
We shouldn’t use players’ laziness and self handicapping as an excuse to make an entire vehicle class unplayable.
So instead of offering a solution such as making a ground-only mode, or increasing the SPAA SP costs to something like 200SP, or removing the on-BR free SPAAs people now get, you decide to blame the victims of unregulated CAS because you decided it would be a good idea to move up SPAAs that can do their jobs?
Raising SPAA is the solution. If a vehicle is too strong, you simply move it up. That’s how the entire BR system works.
CAS will never be unregulated at 8.0-9.0 because CAP is still stronger than it. You’re not a victim if you cause your own problem.
No, because the issue with those SPAAs is that they can can kill air and ground effectively. If you remove their ability to do well against ground, why should they be moved up?
Let’s say the government decided that the rent cap should spontaneously increase threefold. Are you going to blame the tenants for not being able to afford their home and, thus, being evicted?
They’d still be worthy of 9.0+ even without AT ability, just on AA ability alone. I wouldn’t mind moving them to 9.0 and raising their SP cost to 150.
Unless they get proxy, they won’t be very good SPAAs at those BRs. The deal was that ground players can defend themselves from CAS by playing CAP or SPAAs, not for SPAA to suddenly become ineffective.
They don’t need to be “very good.” If they can stop planes with unguided munitions then they have done their job. They shouldn’t make CAS unplayable even in a full uptier.
They still can. SPAA still deters MCLOS CAS.
But again, if you choose to handicap yourself then that’s you’re fault.
SPAAs should be able to deal with CAS at their own BR at least somewhat reliably.
At 9.0, 35mm SPAAs without proxy / AHEAD even struggle to deter CAS in a full downtier.
They should make CAS unplayable if the CAS is fully uptiered. Otherwise, what’s stopping a single individual from stomping teams that don’t have CAP because they never needed to get CAP in the first place? It has been happening now and you haven’t realised it:
Those SPAAs are very weak deterrents for MCLOS CAS. Only inexperienced players find them difficult to deal with.
Again, answer my analogy:
i’ll say this, people will migrate over to japan and britian for their 35mm AA and the problem repeats ad Infinium, now what they should do is just nerf the API-T shell that they get
Well ppl have load outs and when they get a map where they can hide their body, then it’s game over for anyone trying to fight it.
