500mm flat pen, yes.
It’s good until you start facing angled armour. At that point, it’s penetration is almost equivalent to L25A1, which is still pretty good for 7.7, but the reload makes it somewhat unimpressive.
It’s also a fully stabilized 120mm
T34 isn’t particularly great. 6.7 is fine for it and it should never go up to 7.0.
If you’re looking to score a whole bunch of assists, this is the tank to use.
You’re facing lots of German heavies, most of which you can’t reliably one-shot frontally. You’ve then got to suffer that 16 second reload during which time your ‘Kill Assist’ message will likely pop up.
You can also give it the missing dual driver controls, though the co-driver will usually be dying to mg port shots anyways. All the late/post war US heavies had this features.
It means you’ll almost always will get the first shot, but you’re not going to be able to do much against the second guy with said reload 😅
Not even mentioning the possibility of shell shatter or not one-shotting the first guy.
I legitimately never had a single APDS shatter in that tank.
And, depends on positioning and the like.
Okay thank you for telling me that. But the Ariete should go down to 10.0 with it’s dm 33 being removed. and DM 23/120 should have +10mm more of pen because then you can cheese the Abrams cheaks.
Guess I just aim good or was lucky?
Despite the fact I play on controller

you’re lucky. or you only remember the times you pen and conveniently forget when you shatter for no reason. I, in the conqueror, have bounced on the part you’re supposed to shoot of an unangled maus turret face. A tank with a 15 second reload and no usable HE round does not deserve 8.0.
I’m pretty sure I’ve only fire 80 rounds in that tank.
I have 66 kills.
So that means the margin of error is 14 rounds.
Which either could be:
- poor shot placement needing a secondary shot
- I missed
- a shell shattered
I don’t ever recall a shell shattering, and more so, i remember saying how good the gun / shell was to my buddies.
Also doesn’t it get HESH?
Just looked it up it gets a much better HE round! HESH!!! Wdym it doesn’t get a “usable” HE round??
HESH is quite literally a straight downgrade from standard HE in its current state. The ONLY reason HESH is good on the t58 is because it has a 2.5 second reload and it kills everything in one shot by hitting the tracks
I strongly disagree
Disagree all you want but hesh is in an abysmal state right now and at angles where you’d want to use it, it’s worse than HE
If HESH actually acted like a derivative of HE, it would 100% be better, but it doesn’t.
The Conqueror’s HESH shell has 4KG of explosive filler, which equates to 37mm of HE action, but it never overpressures the roof of pretty much any vehicle that it should have (if it was a 37mm of pen HE shell) unless you somehow manage to hit it flat on with it.
That, and the spalling after penetrating the armour (purely through HESH penetration and not its overpressure mechanic) is VERY lackluster.
I’ve gotten a HESH kill on an actual tank with the conqueror but it was exactly this, hitting something’s roof, and I’m pretty sure he didn’t have any crew left either. You bring hesh for niche circumstances, not because it’s actually good
M8 can honestly go to 2.0. It has a .50 cal (auto cannon for it’s br) it’s very fast and has exellent firepower.
1.7 would be fine. You have to remember the M8 HMC is 1.3 which has a 75mm pack howitzer and .50 cal, the only thing holding that back is the slow turret traverse as otherwise it’s better armoured and faster than the M8.
M8 also used to have a shoulder stabilizer and its 50.cal could elevate much higher. It’s definitely no longer 2.0 material in my opinion, but 1.7 seems fair.
M8 LAC’s gun is elevated via a handwheel. There is no shoulder-rest for the gunner to use, unlike the earlier Stuarts. I think Gajin assumed back in the day that the M8 LAC had a shoulder-stab, but when this was corrected at some point, they forgot to reduce the elevation speed.
I had noticed the lack of a stab too and went to report it, but it turns out thats just how it was when I check source material.

With a 2.9 sec reload and M63 SAP, I think it could be 2.0 like the Locust.
