Ground Vehicles **PROPOSED** RB battle rating changes

Should be, but if that was the case, it probably wouldn’t even be 5.0 lmao

Better gun depression and gun handling too

KV-85 has a 7.0s reload whereas the VK.3002 has a 7.4s reload.
KV-85’s round is arguably better at this BR since it has enough flat penetration for most things while still having very good angle penetration and much better explosive filler.

You should try out the KV-85 again. It’s even better at the moment (because of the reload buff).

It’s arguable. I’d say a 7.0s reload BR-365 is better at 5.0 than 7.4s reload PzGr 39/42.
Though it really depends on whether or not it’s an uptier and how far away you’re facing the target (though most of the time, it’s <300m).

Yes, which is why the KV-85 is one of the best CQC tanks at 5.0.
And the M4 isn’t too far off because of the good gun handling, reload, and stabilizer.

Well, in the META of War Thunder, I’d say the M4A1 (76)s and KV-85s are better. They fit more of the criteria of what makes a tank good for most War Thunder maps.

What is the slewing rate for the Kv85?

Maybe I’ll have to give it another go. I didn’t know it’s reload was buffed.

Still abysmal, but way less abysmal than the VK’s.
It’s 14 degrees per second

Su-85M’s reload rate also went down from 7.4s to 7.0s (neither of them needed that buff to be honest).

You’re almost correct. The M36 reaches 20mph in 8 seconds, and the Vk 3002 in 10. So yes, I was wrong. After the nerf it is now slightly slower than the M36 . . . if we ignore the Vk’s higher top speed that is.

And the M36 has none. The Vk 3002 is completely immune to HE autocannon shells, even 37mm+. The M36 is not and that is a massive difference.

No1 who plays America actually thinks .50cals are a game changer. It’s exclusively Germany mains overglazing them to try and justify keeping OP tanks like the Vk at such low BRs.

7.4 seconds v.s 7.0 seconds

Arguably a point towards the Vk 3002 as its better for CQC aiming.

Very small difference. It doesn’t change how they handle in cramped spaces.

This is your only good point, though I haven’t had any issues with the Vk’s postpen.

Just scraping the bottom of the barrel with these.

It’s not about just being better, it’s about the Vk 3002 being able to fill every role effectively, whilst being immune to most cannons in a downtier, and able to angle away most cannons in a uptier.

So based on your thoughts here…

What about the T-34-100? Its sole good thing at its br is its gun.

It’s mobility is meager at its br
No armor to speak of
No HMG
Only smoke barrels in the back.

11.5 second ace reload and -3 gun depression.

In anything but a full downtier, it cannot reliably tank any rounds with more than ~140mm of penetration. Even if you do angle the hull perfectly, the turret is only ~100mm - 50mm thick.
It cannot fulfill a heavy tank role or medium tank role as a result, especially not with the god awful reverse speed and gun handling. Your only real roles are being a light tank / tank destroyer with trolly UFP armour… like the Su-85M.

Not really.

I think you can agree that the T-34-85 has good acceleration and top speed.

T-34-100 has similar acceleration albeit noticeably worse top speed (though it’s still good for what it carries):

Gets the same gun handling as the T-34-85, which is very good:

The armour is lacking, yes, though you can use your engine as armour and that + the good gun handling allows you to side scrape somewhat well.

The difference between the VK.3002 at 5.0 and the T-34-100 at 6.3 is that the T-34-100 can actually react to things, and has good enough reverse speed to get back into cover after peaking some corners.

I wouldn’t say it’s great at 6.3, but it definitely isn’t bad. It’s similar in effectiveness as the VK.3002 in my opinion. It has some very good strengths but some serious flaws. There are better vehicles at its BR if you want to talk about META (like the Jumbo 76, T20, and probably the T-34-85 (STP)).
I’m not sure if it should go to 6.0. I believe it shares similar performance (if not better) to the IS-2 (1944) and Object 248, which are also now 6.3.

I think the T-34-100 is certainly one of the worst 6.3s now given the Tiger 2 P is now 6.3

It’s reload is far too long to be viable because 90% of vehicles already out load it.
Btw the engine armor trick doesn’t work on those. The crew usually dies or ammo explodes still. I shot 2 of them yesterday straight through the engine.

And yes it’s turret slewing rate is good, but its mobility isn’t better than much at its br unless your counting heavies and some TD’s.
(Which I was comparing the T-34-100 to other 6.3s not the the VK)
Especially when you consider it’s heavier than a T-34-85, and has only 4 crew.

So how is it justified to have the T-34-100 at 6.3… but it’s worse than all its counter parts at the same br.

Meanwhile the VK30 definitely does better than its counter parts at 5.0

If you want it to do down, it should loose the BR-412D round. BR-412 & BR-412B already both offer plenty of penetration for the BR. I have no clue why they felt the need to also give it a round from the early 50s.

It having that round really doesn’t make a difference just like you said.

What it needs more than anything is a reload buff from 11.5 secs to like 9.8 secs aced.

Pretty sure it’s a T-44 turret which is roomier than a T-34 turret, and yes the ammunition is slightly larger, but it’s still single piece ammo.

But my point was, how can it be justified the T-34-100 is not as good as its counterparts, meanwhile the VK30 out performs a lot of its counterparts.
Just a comparison.

Riiiight…

image

34% slower to 45 km/h.
That’s the same difference in acceleration as a T-34-57 and IS-2 Mod. '44, in other words: The acceleration difference is so large they’re in separate categories.

Just because people don’t use it, doesn’t mean it isn’t useful.

  • De-tracking opponents whilst behind cover yourself.
  • Farming air kills.
  • Shredding light vehicles like artillery, SPAA or light tanks.

Implying an extra 2 degrees of gun depression isn’t useful? Or smoking off powerpositions isn’t useful? Or even that being able to reverse back into cover isn’t useful.

Which is faster.

Ah yes, and the open-topped design of the M36 is better as it discourages over extending.

See? I can use twisted logic to spin a negative into a positive as well.

Hell nahhh, my first 50cal was on the IS-2 1944 and it felt so good I still remember it, the power to annoy the enemy by taking their track, killing light tanks or any light armoured vehicle behind cover by remotely controlling the 50cal is always amazing

I remember when the IS-2 was killable by .50 cals by shooting the weld in the hull’s UFP.

image

I have one shot a Conquer in test drive with the M-24 50cal

Just because you overglaze it doesn’t mean it’s a game changer. 90% of fights end before the .50 even gets a chance to fire.

You know what, you’re right. Gun depression is the only metric that matters the the Sturer should be 14.0.

No effect on gameplay.

Do you play warthunder?

At 3.7 I’d agree with you, but we’re talking about a 5.3.

I wish my experience with 50 cals was this, they’re so inconsistent for me :(

That being said I once straight up killed a sherman with the firefly’s 50 cal. I genuinely don’t know how it penned his tank but it somehow did

Statshark says otherwise.

it doesn’t even outperform the German vehicles of the same rank, let alone the rest of the nations

Filter by rank=3 - TT - tanks, and sort by SL per game. See how far down you have to scroll.
An (abbreviated list) of the vehicles that out-earn the VK are Comet, Chi-To-Late, M36GMC, Nashorn, M6A1, M4A1 (76), 8.8 cm Flak 37 and PT-76B

This isn’t exactly fair to include right now

Most TT tanks preform poorly compare to event / premiums.

Why?

Same rank, same type (medium), similar BR.

VK 3002 is a TT vehicle. I used TT vehicles for comparison.

Not sure what the problem is…

Wait - are we discussing different vehicles?
