Centurion has much better reload to compensate that. And ap shell on top of that.
I have played both just now to refresh my views and both are just as painful garbage as I expected. Slow, huge and mostly about passive gameplay because almost anything gets to firing position much faster. But if I were to choose I would choose centurion for reload and gun depression.
I can’t think of a single time in which my fuel didn’t explode upon being hit in anything above 8.3
It’s less common under 8.3 but from 8.3+ it’s so infuriating.
(Yes I know some 8.3 - 9.0 tanks store ammo in the fuel)
It rarely happens on most other nations tanks apart from France and China.
I had 3 or 4 shots disappear in amx50 turret and stb2 gun mantlet due to shell shattering. And then I had to wait entire 15s for another lottery. Protection map shows they can be lolpenned everywhere but in battle this bs happens. I get severely punished for aiming for spots which should result in crew / ammo kills. On centurion it isnt as bad because of 6s reload.
That happened today when I decided to give it and sweden cent 3 a shot.
I also played m48 which I havent played since times when I was noobie and it felt excellent after those british buckets. Yes no stab. But 18 hpt, heat and aphe shell with 6.7s reload. I felt like sportcar and heat shells didnt pull any weird pranks. While aphe straight up nuked anything after pen. I would take it any day. Stab is not worth mobilty and shell shatter tortures imo. Like they have scimitar and fox. Neither has stab. But they are fast, small and have strong autocannons. That is meta. Mobility and reload.
Ka52 has been in the game for 5ish year already. SM3 existed in the game for 2 years. CAS has always been an issue in general, not just for russia but the only counters to cas always seem to go to Russia. When the F-16C came into the game, the direct counter to that was pantsir. when the SM3 came into the game, there was no direct counter until last summer.
In that video?
You’re mixing thumbnails with the content of the actual video. Within 1min of that video, he says that he doesn’t believe it. To categorize videos based on thumbnail alone is just foolish.
In addition, those types of videos are far in between from this regular content so I don’t understand your point here. His content has always been tame compared to other CCs.
“When I started out, I used to believe it was true, I was playing Germany, things like the T-34 had good armor and mobility”
Are his exact words. Then he may have stopped for a time, but then really sunk into it for clicks and views.
Yes he’s still a bit more tame compared to TheEuropeanCanadian whom also spams “Russian bias” in thumbs nails, but he’s a hard core believer lol.
Then there is a few more I can’t recall the name of…
But I even meme’d it by naming my squadron after it XD
KA-52 was the best, but by no means was it “Russian bias” it wasn’t out pacing every other heli by huge margins.
And for the Pansir, the last spaa was the 2s6 which was nerfed in a patch prior to the Pansir being released if i remember correctly, then got another nerf when the Pansir came out, making it very pointless as a good spaa anymore.
So it was a bit more of a trade.
T58 = Obj.279 one is 8.7 the other is 9.0 this is a great example, since the T58 is a much better tank thanks to its reload.
M4a3E2 vs T-34-85 the jumbo gets a stab and is unreliable to be penned by the 85mm despite the armor viewer showing it’s more than capable.
USS Helena vs Sverdlov, the shell selection and armor is better on the Helena and for awhile the Helena was so spammed out by bitters and cheaters because it was so much better than it’s competitors.
These are just a few random examples I can think of off the top of my head.
If anyone, USA bias allegations aren’t being beaten.
“If you ask me, no. I don’t think Russian bias exist in warthunder”
Again, within a minute of the video and right before your selective quote, I don’t know why you’re being dishonest about it.
He didn’t, the only time he makes videos regarding “russian bias” is usually when the community was in a frenzy because of something that happened that time.
It was and by a good margin. Missiles that were more maneuverable than some of the best spaa at the time. It could intercept spaa missiles. It had a high velocity cannon with apds, and if memory serves me right, it had dircm.
The apache was outclassed because it wasn’t a swiss army knift and the only thing it was good at, was still outclassed by the ka52 because hellfires couldn’t hit targets reliably.
there’s countless videos showcasing people abusing the hell out of the Ka52 where as you won’t see videos of apaches outputting nearly enough damage as it.
you’re missing the point of my statement. The pantsir was a direct counter to the F-16C. When the SM3 came out, no nation had a counter and it got really bad with the Su34/30. The same thing can be said about the sm-sv.
If you think, I’m saying there is russian bias across all game modes, across all ranks, then you’re wrong. If you watched the entire spookston video he says:
“russian tanks aren’t special, is that to say some russian tanks aren’t overpowered? No but that goes for every other nation in the game too. Gaijin does have an underlying business strategy and it does involve overpowered vehicles but it isn’t nation exclusive. The most overpowered nation in the game changes multiple times per year”
This is correct.
Neither the T58, Jumbo (debatable) isn’t played nearly as much compared to top tier thus the accusation of usa bias being nothing nearly as prevalent.
The accusation of Russian bias in top tier mainly stems from OP CAS or the counter CAS. OP tanks are a problem but the ones that ruin games more often is OP CAS.
What it comes down to is for how long a nation is dominant in CAS for. It’s pretty obvious which nation that is.
I’m not sure how you manage to die every single time because that is definitely not me or my friends’ experience:
Spoiler
Hell, even I’ve been a beneficiary of it on some occasions:
It’s a BS mechanic that completely nullifies all spalling (most of the time), or destroys your tank instantly.
And I’d argue 9/10 times that if your fuel tank explodes, you were going to die to spalling regardless (unless you so happen to get fuel tank explosion from the fuel tanks near the engine).
And it’s not just Russian Tanks that have this BS mechanic, but other nations like Chinese MBTs, the British Olifant Mk.2, the French AMX-30s series of tanks, and we can’t forget about the Leopard 2K.
Most heavy tanks suffer from HEATFS anyways, just that the IS series suffer more (because of said ammo racks being everywhere)… but in return, they get exceptional armour against early APDS and conventional APHE / AP rounds.
On the contrary, ever since the big HE nerf years ago it’s been easier for Pr.68s to kill Helena, Brooklyn et al. than the other way around, as Zheleznyakov and Co. do have the better armour and punchier shells.
That being said, I don’t think past and current performances of US and Soviet CLs over the course of various damage model iterations lend themselves to any serious bias allegations either way.
Everyone seems to talk about how tanks behaved when they were at different BRs in the past. I would argue that doesn’t matter much because so many vehicles have been added, many bugs have been fixed, many things have been remodeled, additional shells have been added. This game is how it is not how it was. Balancing decisions should be made based on the current state of the game not how things were one or more years ago.
