For far far to long the balance of this game has been completely broken. The biggest reason for this, is that some nations due to new patch content or weak vehicles can be manipulated into causing unbalanced matches. This causes win rates and playability for these affected nations to plummet and ruin the quality of matches. For example, America has been one of the worst top tier nations on average for almost 3 years now. All of the statistical information that I have seen and experienced first hand says this is not debatable. Players are able to “force queue” nations together to force unbalanced games agaisnt the weaker one. IE. Germany/Russia v America.
This has caused nations to be unplayable for a variety of reasons.
Isreal: 0 spaa
UK: Terrible vehicles
Japan: Weak lineup and subpar spaa
Italy: Weak lineup and no spaa
Having these nations on your team are of literally 0 support when facing the force queued meta nations 90% of the time. Not to mention America, which is by far the worst performing nation in the game in terms of winrate. Premium tanks, light tank spawners plus medicore vehicles in general has made playing america a chore, its not fun knowing that before the match even begins the likelihood that my team isn’t going to throw is less than 40%. Now you may say well not one paragraph earlier you said very similar things about the other nations commonly found on your america teams. True but those minor nations only make up about 20% or less of your team most of the time, meaning that if your america players are all premiums and or just abrams you will still get clapped.
It does not matter how many meaningless buffs the abrams or other tanks get, the core issue is rotten. The only solution that makes any sense, is to make top tier MM all mixed. Spread the weak nations out with the better ones. Diversify gameplay through randomizing encounters, allow players to not have to take nation into consideration when attempting to squad. This exact solution was done to air rb some time ago and is the only reason that its remotely playable at this time. Ground RB should be no different.
I know that this thread will inevitably attract mega cope and I have curated some cope responses to premedicate before wasting time to respond.
1.But I dont want to fight the same tanks as mine. A. You literally already are.
2. I want to keep abusing my meta nation. A. Cope you are the problem.
3. It would make games less fun. A. No, it would make them more balanced + you could not possibly know that. (also see previous #2 response also applicable in this case)
4. Trying to make the game more arcade/WOT/less realistic A. This response is so nonsensical that is doesn’t warrant a response.
If we’re going to put OP CAS like Su-34 in the game - With Pantsir as its only counter (And really the only counter to any top tier CAS) on the same nation, then they should be on both teams.
If we’re going to let 2A7 / 122’s run riot, then they should be on both teams.
If we’re going to completely neglect certain nations, then there should always be a loved nation on the same team capable of carrying them, and performing tasks like brawling / SPAA etc that they’re incapable of.
I think the US’ catastrophic winrates aren’t just a fault of it’s vehicles, in my experience it’s in large part Clickbait & AIM ODL spam, but this constant RU+GER+SWE+CN vs US ‘and the rest’ matchmaker is getting exhausting. All of the best stuff on one team, in no small part because stat-addicts deliberately squad them together to boost W/R.
I don’t like mixed battles in Air, and i don’t particularly like the idea of it ground. But snail has given us twelve years of proof that they’re incapable of balancing top tier, so to heck with it. I’d rather fight clones of myself, than get absolutely rolled match after match, for daring to play a non meta nation.
Game is already practically mixed, every time I play a minor nation I see it on the other team, not to mention both teams having to suffer with US players almost constantly, for anything above 11.0 the game hasn’t functioned properly since the introduction of rank 7 prems tbh
To be honest, from personal experience… Playing nations such as Italy doesn’t hinder the team’s performance whatsoever. Freccia is one of the strongest light tanks out there with 10 Spikes, and once you die in that (Mind you that you can spot for the entire team, so you’re not useless) you’re free to easily spawn in either the Gripen or AV-8B+ if you want that kind of CAS but also the Mangusta with Spikes which just rains stuff on the map. I understand people looking at the Ariete and feeling like it’s a “mediocre” tank, but again, i have more than 2 K/D with it so it’s more than possible to do well in it, it’s not like I’m a genius or a pro.
Italy also just received the OSA and will get a Strela which will both help, but It’s not like the OTO is a bad tank by any means. Sure you’ll have some difficulties against moving targets, but against people that don’t really manoeuvre for more than 5 seconds they are dead. Just lock them with the IRST and laser them.
Italy’s top tier line-up more than solid, the light tanks are insane, with the the Centauro 120 as the absolute star. MBTs are fine, we have an insanely strong leopard and a more than capable Ariete (Technically Italy could get PLENTY of Ariete modifications to have better options). I just have to disagree with the “Weak lineup” statement.
When it comes to Israel well… I can’t give my personal opinion since i haven’t played it but it does look MUCH worse compared to Italy.
About the mixed idea i don’t really have a feeling around that, but yeah just wanted to give my point of view from playing Italy.
Never said that they hinder performance just that they are such a small part of your team they make 0 impact on the game since 90% of your teams end up being clickbaits anyway. If the clickbait and premium players were spread out across both teams the game would be 100% better, and less broken. Italy could be the best nation in game, but if 90% of your team is america you would still lose 60% of the time.
I understand what you mean. To be fair I do see certain players lacking HEAVILY in terms of situational awareness etc… but i mean if you fight against USSR you will end up against T-80Us etc… It’s the same thing.

It does look bleak. I hope that they will end up getting better Anti-air thanks to what they’ve pointed out in the Covert post. I was looking forward to grinding Israel since the Merkavas look unique.
lmao sounds accurate, Israel really is a TT of all time rn - never bothered going past 9.7 with it, maybe if they add some more actual light tanks to the roster it would become playable since the merkava’s are just not it.
I’ll tell you clearly after over 11,000 hours of playing time. The game is more unbalanced than ever before. The fact that Gajijn doesn’t do anything is so ridiculous and shows that they don’t know their own game.
Just me confused on people complaining about CAS when we all have access to jets with FOX 3? I mean, most of the time you will see someone die to bombs or agm just for them to spawn into cas with bombs and agm…
I have a clip somewhere with my team having 5 F16C up with only AG munitions while the enemy KA and Tornado keeping my team spawn locks with CAS.
Eh i don’t know… Like at least when it comes to ground RB it depends A LOT on the skill of the player. Sure you can have more armour but if you know where to shoot armour will not save you. Against heli rushes? Two spikes on the helis and it doesn’t matter that they are Russian helis. It really depends.
A bad T-90M or 2A7 player will 10/10 die against a good Ariete player. It simply depends on the skill of the player. Do you have more breathing room in a 2A7? Sure. Does it matter if you’re skilled enough to get a nuke and carry your team? Not really.
This of course is my personal opinion, by no means take this as the truth, it probably isn’t. I’m heavily biased :P
Explain how it isnt already “arcade” when you have GER/RUS/SWE fighting USA/UK/FRA ??? Like you cant possibly be this dishonest. Its a revolving door of nations already, one minute you are fighting with russia the next they are on the enemy team. The only thing this sugestion does is make the likelihood of a quality match more likely.

Everyone remembers Japan players rioting a few years back, and rightfully so, when Type-93 was their best AA. Israel’s best AA today is even worse than Type-93 - and that’s years later when exponentially more lethal CAS has been added lol.
Can’t lock helicopters beyond 2km (And can’t hit IRCM Heli’s at all) Cant lock aircraft beyond 4-5km. Cant lock drones at all. A couple minutes into each game when all the CAS/Heli comes in, the whole lineup basically just turns into RP Pinatas.

Playing a non meta nation (I.e Israel) makes it very difficult to save up for the counter to CAS - whilst you’re being helplessly bullied by CAS.
