Yes. Different armament has its different uses as explained above. Give planes what they are capable of and players can choose what to carry according to the role they want to play. In the ground armament, we already see this. There is laser, ir, tv and gnss guided different types of weaponry and you can mix and match according to what you plan doing. Why is it unthinkable to give capable missiles to each plane so the player decides what to arm their plane according to how they want to play?

Because then we would get planes in nations carrying a whole bunch of munitions that they would never carry irl. Just look at f-16s, su-30mki, mirages, f-15, etc and all the weapons those planes could carry. If you give those planes and their variants all of their “theoretical loadout”, you’re going to get Russian su-30sms with 10x micas, or American f-16s with magic 2s, or French mirages with r73s, which absolutely makes 0 sense.
Meenwhile china gets pl12s and r77s. For a price, no.surprise

We are not talking about theoretical, at least i was not. Gripen E in real life has a capability of carrying Micas. It was here someone pointed out that Gripen C was reported to shoot Micas in a training session. It is in real life, not theoretical. We are not starting to throw every single munition to each and every plane. I have never said anything like that.

The gripen c is a completely different plane compared to the gripen e in terms of avionics.
Also where have you seen that gripen test fired micas?

Yeah, that falls under equipment though, because mostly all top tier planes use BOL, like the AIM-9M’s.
Okay, can you find me a document that says that gripen was testing micas?
I don’t see it in this original presentation about the mica from ~96.
Actually nvm, mica can technically be integrated with any plane with the MIL 1553 bus that the gripen has.

Unless you pay real money. For the £££ theres actually interesting / new stuff.
If they foldered or even better just upgraded the old EF and flanker. Made the J10C and grippy an actual upgrade people wouldnt be pissed. Its an update for mugs
1000% we need developers to focus on bugs and quality of life changes!!! The only downside is that gaijin cannot make much money out of it and so they won’t focus on that. I wish everyone could understand and focus on that part but seems highly unlikely.

The Gripen E is already a massive upgrade over the C just by virtue of having more missiles and a stronger engine. It still has bugs like it’s RWR not being modelled correctly (it’s currently modelled the same as the C, even though it should work 360 degrees), its MAWs not deploying chaff or working against radar missiles like it should, and of course all the issues with radar in general. Once those fixes come in, it’ll be even better, and really start to compete against other meta planes. Wing upgrade should also give it extra maneuverability too.

The gist i got from his vid: better engines but weighs more… gets slapped by A and C versions in a dog fight.
Add to this darters are better under 10km.
SA grippen also doesnt fight france.
SA grippen still number 1 IMO.
