I’ve reached my limit with the tech trees at this point. I did USA, Russia (ground only), part of Israel, Sweden (Ground and Air), and Japan (ground working on Air) I tried to go for Great britian but it’s just so long and awful. Once I finish Japan I honestly am not going to grind another tree for a long time.
I don’t mind the grind to unlock a vehicle. What I think is complete crap is then having to grind out all the modifications. Hey tank crew, you just fought your way from Rank 1 to Rank 8. Great job. I know you just spent millions of SL to get qualified on this vehicle, but we are now going to strip everything out of it and make you grind it out again.
I saw the title and thought I’d give a bit of what I think, unlike basically EVERY OTHER GAME, when you buy premium it isn’t to grind faster, it’s a subscription to the BASE GAME and premium vehicles/GE-ing research is the real pay to progress.
Ok. I’m an old man by video game standards. I have a full time job, a wife and two kids. I do not have the time to log on every day and play to get these specialty vehicles (i have gotten some). That sucks. FIx it so us old folks can enjoy the benefits of the game too. I’ve been playing for 11 years, something needs to change for the better other than graphics.
Also, my 5 and 7 year old play with me all the time, and it’s extremely difficult to get them to learn the mechanics of the game. I know adults that have issue with it. My 5 year old has gotten up to 3.7 with the USSR and it seems like every one of his games is at 4.7 and he get destroyed constantly. I’m not asking to make the game more accessible for a 5 year old, but dang man, what’s the solution? Constant uptiers get tiresome for grown men, for a 5 year old, its soul crushing. He is continuing to play only because I play. If the devs want to get more players in here, they need to do something about full uptiers, at least at the lower BRs.

Unfortunately, the solution to this problem is the Marketplace. You are an adult with money, and if you really want something that has passed, then you have to open your wallet.
I have played this game with grown men who will crash out when they die in downtiers, so a 5-year-old to not liking it happening in an uptier is understandable. Since the game is balanced around that ±1 BR, it will be hard to change such a core mechanic. The best outcome will probably be from you encouraging/rewarding his perseverance in staying with the game

At that age I was playing Super Mario Sunshine on Gamecube, and thankfully not a war simulator with a community that is full of socially excluded weirdos constantly making jokes about femboys and all sorts of edgy topics.

people break these age rules one games but war thunder is 13+ because of gambling and explosions a toddler shouldn’t be on my team now we know why low teirs teams are so bad
just turn off chat them that’s not a major issue

OP should look at the minimum allowed age for players in the War Thunder EULA. Your account is liable for a ban for allowing underage gameplay.

I played street fighter 2 at that age. This is a game where he pilots a tank or a plane, there is no gore or blood or actual death. He isnt crushing mushrooms to dearh or sending bowser into a lava pit. He is being raised right and he gets to hang out with his dad while we both war thunder a bit. He also hangs out and helps me work on my jeep and truck too, and he uses a knife under supervision while camping. Parenting is on point on this end. I’m gonna guess you dont have kids.
I am 100% certain a parent can have their child use an account under supervision.
Go read it again. You have to be 18 to agree to it. You can be a minor and play with parent consent. If they got rid of all the players under 18, by your logic, where would this game be?
you really think a 5 yr old should be learning how to drop bombs on tanks and aboud explosive fillings crew dieing and other things like that
Low tier teams are bad because thats where new players hang out. I’m level 100, i get 10 kills almost every game, and I’m usually top 3 on the team, if not #1 more than half the time. He is rarely ever last on the team and he gets a kill here and there.
Yeah man, its a video game. He is just shooting other tanks and flying planes. Sometimes we do a vs and i let him shoot me down. Not a big deal.
what about when his crew goes black and gets APHE to the head of his commander
just what ever you do, do NOT let your kids play war thunder until they’re patient enough to do the grind

grind doesn’t matter grind is ez they will spend money anyway like all new players BUT must be 13+ is only real requirment
tbh it might be more important to have patients anyways so you cant go broke for buying to many premiums
