Ground realistic BR’s make no sense for these two. MiG-21bis has:
better Flight Model
stronger engine
more missiles (6 vs 4)
better missiles (R-60M vs R-60, access to R-13M)
better cammos (no aluminum foil indentations)
Meanwhile USSR has no Fighter Jet at 10.0, only Strike Aircraft: Su-25 and Su-22.
At the same time MiG-21bis can’t go up to 10.7 because MiG-23ML/MLD are already there.
And now F-5A/C are being moved down from 10.3 to 10.0 which makes little practical sense since USA has no 10.0 lineup withtout marketplace vehicles or SPAA.
Edit: reduce MiG-21 SMT BR in ground realistic battles to 10.0
BRs are almost entirely dictated by A2G performance in GRB. Which makes sense. There are times where A2A performance seems to dictate BR like with the Hawk 200 RDA but in the case of these Mig-21s it seems to be A2G.
Yeah, not uncommon. But the mig21smt is probably too strong in A2A to go down below 10.3 and the bis isn’t strong enough in CAS to go up.
There is a lot of cases of aircraft of extremely different performances being at the same BR in GRB. Truth is, I don’t really think there is any balance in GRB aircraft and half of it is just random
If you ask me, they should have never started doing this idiotic downtiering of every plane that doesn’t have smart air to ground munitions. All it has done is create obvious massively overpowered fighters that aren’t beatable by same tier fighters.
