OP’s suggestions are nothing more than “I like this one optional mechanic that is already in place in its respective mode, though I believe it should be mandatory for the most popular mode”.
And again, how do you propose removing ULQ? This isn’t the magical snap of a genie’s fingers, this is something about 1/5 of the playerbase relies on to keep the game in a playable state.
Snail games recently upgraded its UE graphics engine, and they “added” dozens of graphical options that even went as far as to remove every texture map in the game, make water invisible, and allow you to remove clouds, foliage, and even collectible items.
Almost all of the AS:E playerbase favored the fact that they can play a PvP survival game at over 30fps.
There are already people playing this game at 30-40fps on minimum graphics with aforementioned cards. If you remove said minimum graphics, the game is unplayable for them.
That’s the tradeoff for using console based platforms. No game you get has anywhere near the accessibility, and in turn you play on throttled hardware on titles you don’t own.
I can argue the same for mobile games not having the same options, but even then they have more. It isn’t VMware, and it isn’t a waste of money like a console.
And that isn’t something that’s easy to change. If you’d like more graphics options, pledge a new OS.
As I’ve said, it makes no difference to concealment or clouds. Unless the minimum render distance (2.2, equivalent to about 3km of terrain popin and foliage) magically removed every asset from the game, cover and concealment will still be there.
This isn’t 2019 either, clouds are server side and standardized across every players view. Cloud quality will not affect the visibility through the cloud, only the fidelity of the translucent mesh. It’ll flicker less, it’ll be much more clear around the edges, that’s about it.
Because systems aren’t equal across the board. This is a merit based system, where those with better systems have more availability.
This is the same argument as saying that fighting people playing at 360fps is unfair compared to you on your 40fps laptop. It is entirely a user component, and the only way to “straighten” out the issue is to get a better system.
