You have to divide - rear gunner, tail gunner, dorsal gunner
The tail gunner (turret) had electric fire interrupters and in the limit angles of rotation of the turret, there were also some mechanical stops…
The rear gunner (cabin) had mechanical restrictions in the rotating mounting of the weapon…
The dorsal gunner, there were similar limiters as in the tail gunner…
This problem was already solved with rear gunners during the First World War, there it still depended on the discipline of the gunner, during combat, but it was not easy at all… stress, speed of air combat, etc. … already then various limiters, fire interrupters, prototypes were created and solved - i.e. something like you have on coastal boats in the WT Navy, a metal limiter of the movement of the weapon…
If it’s only for single gunner plane’s, then maybe. And preferably only simulator mode as well.
Bomber’s already get there faces kicked in as it is, no need to make it worse.
