Rolands and the VEAK-40 we have now do almost nothing even at its lower BRs.
Also on some maps there are valleys/rivers that run along close to the airfield, and allow people to just dip inside and avoid any danger whatsoever. For low and high tier AA
You want to make the airfield camping even worse? Dipping behind mountains or in valleys would still stop higher tier AAs. As many people have said, you should only really land if you have made mistakes. There are flaws in that arguement sure, but as it stands, airfield AA is more than good enough and more people want it to be removed than buffed

Most matches don’t make it to the point where people are running out of ammunition or fuel. If you are landing for fuel, maybe you could have brought more. At the current time, running out of ammunition is more common as guns do jack sh** but normally you have the capability to kill people before they have the opportunity to kill you when landing. Could you have been more aware of your surroundings to ensure there would be nobody to kill you on the airfield? Could you have perhaps killed them before a situation in which you land and die occurs? Airfield AA doesn’t need to be improved. You take the risk when landing. Running to the airfield shouldn’t be a get out of jail free card.
This is usually a result of poor maps/airfield placement. Existing defenses are enough to deal with enemies who rush the af.

Just so we’re on the same page, you guys think that the air defence of the main airfield (only the main airfield, the undefended airfields should remain undefended) in high tiers (just rank 8) is fine and does not need a buff?
Well yeah, if you’re landing at an airfield then you SHOULD be vulnerable to getting killed, not be surrounded by an invulnerable protection bubble similar to bottom tier Flak AA.
The point of air rb is air to air battles, not shooting landed opponents, and so air to air battles should be incentivised by not letting you just shoot landed opponents.

But its not fair that I can fly fast enough and do some rolls and kill a poor dude who bombed a base and got a kill. It needs to be more effective, not more range. Its so easy to dodge that its pointless at this time. If your killing someone on the airfield it should be w/ a A2G munitions or a long range A2A Missile.
Uh… what? Your solution to balance out the airfield defence would be to instead use munitions that would be even harder for people landing at airfields to counter…?
The AA isn’t 100% useless either, the VEAK 40s will literally tear you apart from a mile away even when you’re manoeuvring from sheer RnG, there’s still a risk in strafing airfields.
You just need those Shilkas from the SEAD event…
