I agree, I think current map size is OKAY for reserve tier to maybe rank 4 and 5 but quickly fall apart once MBTs can reach 70 km/h and laser range finders appear. I think top tier maps need to be at minimum Maginot Line sized, it’s a map that feels way bigger than it appears to be, and it’s a good framework for Gaijin to make good maps, Tunisia, Fulda and Maginot line follows the same principles (CQC, Mid, Long engagements).

Some CQC maps like American Desert and Rhine are also good examples of maps flow well at all tiers, large urban maps need to be removed or reworked, they are easily the worst style of maps in the game.

People who don’t want to waste time on big maps usually don’t want to waste time here on the forum as well.

The only reason I’m here is because I’m bored at work.


But whatever, I am going to keep leaving big maps after first death. 🤷‍♂️ I have enough nations to play anyway.

Everyone will have to do the same though, Larger maps also allows the second spawn to try and challenge the match. Currently at top tier, your second spawn is being spawn camped.

Larger maps makes light tanks useful (the ones without 120mm guns) makes aviation less impactful (cant just bomb the usual map lanes)

And makes everyones armour better!

No, big maps are trash. Only making games to last longer for pseudo artificial reasons.

Yeah, gives gaijin a reason to add AT cluster munition/mine layers to deny movement through a sector.

why would you want bigger maps some tanks need to drive more than 2 minutes to get to the battlefield already, and you cant even afk to watch youtube or smt like in air otherwise you get sniped randomly, the maps are already big enough

There just needs to be a broader vote.

People are too focused on map sizes in these types of threads, instead of actually important factors like terrain and map layout/composition. I hate how everyone things bigger=better and small=bad, because it just isn’t true.

That’s a good point.

Second battle of el alamein (the one in the duney area) feels like one of my favourite maps. It’s also not much bigger than sweden or sun city, yet I despise Sweden(map) and sun city. Voloklamask (battle version) is also smaller than fields of poland, yet I find I have long-range engagements on it as well using hills and the like (it’s the map I got my first Sniper achievement on even).

Difference? One set have a lot of hills to peek over and space to jump behind those hills to reposition and the like. The others are street corner to corner fighting with a few straight sightlines near map edge and the middle, also incredibly flat.

This is why I love tunisia at later-WW/korean war tiers:

Matches that can turn around and reverse repeatedly and remain undecided until the very last moment.

It’s a wide and open map (but with a lot of covered positions to move around with and a lot of routes to approach engagements) where it’s impossible to lock-down the enemy and they can reverse a “stomp” by exploiting this fact and flanking you.

It also has a high variety of environments that allow multiple tank types to shine without feeling useless.

just play better, oh and also
increase tickets so matches are longer
and allow leaving and joining matches like it is in simulator ground battles

So you are one of those people who do not know what a conversation is and have to resort to insulting people or their abilities even when you have not experienced how he or she plays the game etc,

Skill issue is quite literally a saying people who cheat in a game say to make you feel like you are the problem or say to “noobs” that play a game to feel better because they are “not new here”.

This is fixed by having captured points be spawanable like any other conquest style game.

Yapping

Big maps work as long as they are designed properly. Making a big map and slapping 3 points in the middle is a terrible design choice for a large map.

One solution is putting 2 spawnable caps near the bases on each side so that dying doesn’t mean driving for minutes to see no action and potentially dying to a spawn camper waiting for you to leave your only spawn. This also has the unintended effect of solving spawn camping to a degree.

Just fix the maps we have, lose the time out zones and sort out the spawn points.

The map in the 1st post is good, you need to add 5 to 7 cap zones, that way dying and re-advance won’t take 5-10 min of automatic driving.
Then you need a good cover, hills are pathetic since you can easily see on 3rd person view, so I would add that huge “hangar” ( like in fields of Normandy )
Also cap zones should be kinda protected, that way won’t be a suicide to cap.

Finally gaijin need to implement it as test map and players will activate the “test map option” ( like in night battles). But we all know that this never will be real, nice talk by the way 💁🏻‍♀️
