The armour of it is just shit irl anyway and wont get any meaningful fix.
That’s false but alright 👍
Best optics is a completely irrelevant point. All top tiers get amazing optics except the 2A5s. Dart is nothing special. LWS is found on the Merkava, so is the reverse gearbox, and the Merkava has better smokes. Low profile is a nerf as it tanks your survivability, and are we REALLY counting the .50 here?
If we compare Leclerc and 2A5/6/PSO to Type 10, they have better mobility, gun handling, and the 2A5 has far better armor, among other things.
If the Type 10 had a resemblance of armor, a good transmission, and good gun handling it could maybe slot in above Leclerc, but it doesn’t and likely never will.
Honestly OFL 120 F1 is a really good round for the reload time. Add the mobility and the Leclerc is a tank that is actually way more suited for flanking albeit most individuals in this forum enforce to overpraise more unsuitable vehicles for such role, like the Abrams series.
Abrams is more suitable for a flank.
Merkava 4, Abrams (even at 11.3 rn) and Arietes have superior shells with identical reload.
Big, huge meh. The Leclerc series have better optics across the board, and their base reload time equals an aced crew (and you don’t need to invest 4M+ to get 5s reloads for four different tanks).
Merkava’s silluette is unsuitable for flanking, as it’s huge. Arietes are objective trash above 12.0 without the WAR kit, and the Abrams (as well as the others) needs an aced crew, and, as I replied before, you need 4 million SL to get ALL your vehicles to match the reload, requiring a loader.
The Leclerc gets a base 5s reload without investing other than the base vehicle and the crew allocation. It’s not even a debate.
And to get back on topic, the Leclerc series don’t need a new round, they’re quite fine for what they’re capable to do.
The SEP has pretty much the same optics.
SL is not exactly hard to get, I had 70M SL playing tech tree vehicles almost exclusively, and I expert everything I play. Then the crates struck.
Its also more survivable, has better reverse if you need to get out of there, plus the smokes and ESS. On top of this you have better armor. The silhouette doesn’t really change much of anything when getting spotted, unless you’re talking about a size difference of L3 vs Merkava. Ariete AMV is also far, far faster than Leclerc, so it is technically the best flanker :)
I have every top tier vehicle experted, so this doesn’t really affect me.
They could 100% get it, but I would prefer them going lower in BR.
idk if I agree with that
slightly better reload on the leclerc due to autoloader and most people not having ace crew
along with a quieter engine can make a huge difference, along with pen not mattering as much on a flank
Abrams edges it out IMO, although both are very close. The extra penetration is very nice for spalling, and the armor can save you from time to time. Leclerc engine is also not very quiet.
dont know how much of a difference it makes but could see that
eh, idk its not like abrams armor really tanks many shots, and if you are penned you normaly lose both turret drives and mobility while leclerc fuel tank sometimes is trolly
sure, but its not quite as loud, and nowhere near as distinctive whereas you pretty much always can tell if an engine noise is an abrams and you should know if that means its an enemy or not
Still have to explain the US having two heavy tanks with 2nd* gen and other 2 (M1A2, M1A1 HC) completely not having good thermals at all. All Leclercs have 2nd* gen thermals, not many trees have that luxury.
Its still an artificial and convenient gap to overcome. Not everyone has the time nor the will to ace their crews. I’m even on that hill, as I have only ever aced air crews as its way more than lucrative compared to ground vehicles.
Lucky you, but most of the playerbase doesn’t have above 10 mil at best, I’d even bet a mil available to spend on crews.
If your argument will be around its potential, then obviously the abrams will supposedly best them all given its kit, but on average circumstances, the ones you meet most of games, the Leclerc clearly has the edge, as all the things you’re taking for granted as the aced reload time, are things most of people simply doesn’t have.
What? You do know that TUSK is removable on both, SEP V2’s being removable next update. As long as you have Gen 1s, I don’t really care for the thermal generation.
That’s on them.
Still on them.
Leclerc doesn’t really have much of an edge at all.
Just checked, it has .8s of an edge on an unexperted Abrams. That’s it. Abrams is better or equal in pretty much every other regard.
I think it is important that we consider flanking as a very small part of what an MBT should be rated for. Is an MBT not meant to fulfill the purpose of a spearhead?
I believe you are mistaken here, they are all 2nd gen thermals.
Personally, gajin ready Leclerc XLR with SHARD Mk 1 APFSDS in 2 or 3 years but not this year
I expect gajin add OFL 120 F1B (Leclerc S1 & Leclerc S2) and OFL 120 F2 (Leclerc S2, Leclerc SXXI & Leclerc AZUR) in winter 2025 or the first major update 2026 before Leclerc XLR (SHARD Mk 1 APFSDS)
wont happen, they arent different enough
I absolutely hated the round when playing it, M829A2 feels infinitely better.
It will save you more than the Leclerc, especially if you bush the thing up
Spoiler
Might be my sound mod, but I feel like the Leclerc is just as loud.
Corrected, yet the big leap is between 1st and 2nd, the gap between 2nd and 3rd is still noticeable, but 1st gen is near unusable in areas with lots of thermal clutter.
And its still besides the point. Leclercs are fine right now. The only leclerc it should get SHARD is the next one at best.
Then can you answer this question next.
On the basis of advancement, what should be the next step-up in the game if not the addition of SHARD ammunition to the Leclerc?
