It does (but not in War Thunder, here the composite armour of the Puma is non-existent and instead Gaijin modelled it as a 5mm steel plate… yeah), and Mike confirmed that a Puma with SPIKE-LR2s will come (aka PUMA S1/PUMA VTFJ). Question is whether they will fix it and make it useable, in the meantime Germany stays without an IFV that is relevant in top tier battles (where ATGMs are a must).
Then again, simple solution is to give Germany the Aussie trialed KF41 in the meantime, it is different enough (afaik uses the 35mm WOTAN cannon and not the MK30-2 that the Hungarian one uses, should have a different powerpack and thermals as well). Not a lot of work all things considered, at least less than fixing all the 100+ bugs that are affecting the Puma.
We didn’t even see Lynx armor in action in game tho. Fixing armor on PUMA would make more sense imo.

Both were offered and rejected due to existence of Puma (which was tailor made for the Bundeswehr, changing requirements multiple times since the project began in late 1990s - the original Puma doesn’t even look like the modern one at all, if I find the picture of it again I’lls share it).
as you said the PUMA was tailor made for the bundeswehr so why not focus on fixing that instead of taking a vehicle that germany rn does not want
Well, we did focus on getting it fixed, Gaijin rejected our advances :)
Seems like the actual fix is the KF41, since that one once SPIKEs get a fix will work as intended.

because gajin isnt doing anything, they could fix it bit by bit to show they are working on it, but nothing changed since we fought tooth and nails they increased overheat time at least by a tiny bit

maybe they are working on the PUMA but have not state this, by the logic used here, Italy should get the improved hungarian 2A7 because the Arietes armour has been bugged for years

Rheinmetall’s reason to make the Lynx was creating an exportable Puma, basically. Since the Bundeswehr doesn’t really want anybody else to have it, and KMW doesn’t really want to redesign it to fit the requirements of other armies (hence why, despite it performing the best during early stages of Czech Republic’s IFV trials, it was withdrawn - and it was basically set to win if it didn’t).
