Currently, the main issue for Germans 6.0-6.7 is still a lack of CAS/CAP, which could not only destroy ground targets but also be used against allies’ CAS.
Did Gaijin abandon Germany CAS power around this BR, 6.7 as the most popular BR for Germany, but don’t have any good CAS or CAP, as DO335B, big bombs and CAS system changed, Germany now suffering too high SP cost for CAS or useless CAP(mg151 is pretty hard to penetrate most of the targets, even some SPAA)
As more subtree considered for adding to German and BR adjustments, is it possible to get some real good CAS/CAP? E.G: South American TT A37B or MB326cg, even F4U5
Or some aircraft go down from 7.3-7.0 to 6.7
such as HO229, Me262 a1u1 or AR234C move to 6.7 only
Germany already has the best 6.7 list. With almost no nation having a coherent 7.0 list and 7.3 having only US and Japan. That puts german 6.7 a pretty favorable position. They have the 262 with 50mm or the JU 288 for ground attack.
The 50mm Me-262 A1-U4 is one of the best cas aircraft in the game, there’s nothing to complain about. Th FW190 F-8 is also capable at 5.7, as well as the DO-335 so Germany does have usable cas
while the narwhal is ok (for now until gaijin nerfs it again for a couple years like the last time), the ju288 is a premium, and shouldnt be included.
this also overlooks cap, which germany just doesnt have (and is a consistent problem until ~9.0) , and also germany 6.7 isnt that great, pretty much the whole thing is being carried by the long 88
Or they could move the Tiger 2s to 7.0 like they are in arcade mode.
(I’m not serious about this, just making a point about moving BRs based on making lineups not preformance)
you have the Ar 234B at 6.3 already.
It’s not like Germany is the only nation that has to choose between CAS and CAP, in fact it’s basically only USA and France (due to all the C&P USA planes) that do not.
Not unique to germany. Most nations have large brs of unusable CAP. That being said, the 162 is usable as its weakness is less relevant in ground RB. Its acceleration is poor but its pretty rare you fight more than 1-2 planes and you often have time between them. Your turn is excelent, especially vs your intended targets. Everything at your br is props, often pretty far underteired as most nations have large CAS gaps.
Maybe one day, then BR extension should be the best solution.
However, Tiger 2(H) looks like this game is the most basic thing that never changed.
And that’s why AR234C could be 6.7, and IL28SH is already 7.3
Most of nations could have such a choice around this BR, Britain, Sweden, Italy, and Russia, all of them have some good CAS/CAP, like Spitfire MK24 or AR21B
Me262 might be good in CAS(and Gaijin nerfed its APHE which is worse than before), but hard to against planes, FW190 and DO335 above 6.0 will be like a joke, especially when DO335B’s maneuverability got nerfed again( now the maximum overload is 7G most of time)
I think it’s a bit by design, they either force you to pick something “better” (and by better I mean something for both CAP/CAS) at higher BRs or you grab the Me262 with the 50mm and do whatever you can with it on CAS/Ta 152 for CAP.
Germany is still quite stacked on anything you may need at those BRs anyway: SPAAs, TDs, light/medium/heavy tanks… Germany 6.0-7.0 has definitely seen worse days (and better too).
Yak-9k is the best and most frequent CAS plane. I always see this thing in BRs of 7.0 and above. As long as there arent radar SPAAs, its stupid op and kills everything with APHE. While beeing a decent turnfighter on top.
That’s why I prefer 262A1/U1 to 6.7 instead of using U4, though it is heavier, U4 is pretty hard to CAS when USSR/China are at the opposite, the APHE will just overpen
YAK9K is pretty easy to shot down by CAP, yak9ut might be harder, but still fine, as Gaijin nerfed the APHE and Bombs, YAK9K is almost the only thing that Russian could rely on. It is pretty hard to find someone good at it, most players will only get 1-2 kills
Strafe with the ME-410B6/R3—Those 30mm’s do dmg - you may be playing at 6.7 br in ground battles - but not every vehicle you put in your lineup has to be 6.7 to be effective, as I am sure you know.
BF110-C4 - Strafe and bomb.
Ju88-A4 -fast dive bomb.
Arado - fast bomb
Alternatively - play air defence with a 190 or 109.
Explanation is easy. Yak-9k is the most op cas aircraft WT ever saw, cause of the combo of lightweigt fighter flight model + Aphe shell.
You can easily dive down in a perfect angle to shot enemy tanks from above, at 90 degree. Thats how they drop one Tiger after another without any checks and balances. One Aphe penetrating from above detonates every tank.
Other high pen planes either have no APHE shell and do much less damage, or the flight model is less forgiving. You can’t pull out of a 90 deg dive as easily in a Me-262. You either have to choose a less agressive angle or use a steep dive, but pull up much earlier. Means you have to shot from farther away. Yak however can dive until they get much closer, perfectly aim for the turret roof and pull up to go for the next kill. Its also “conviniant” that this APHE shell is with the default belt. So you can spawn a bit less effective Yak-9k without spawn point bump.
I couldn’t find RL references of Yak-9’s beeing tank killers…but in WT its the best.
