PESA/AESA radars arent THAT big of a leap over some of the top tier radars we already have. and will probably come sooner rather than later (Japanese F-2 comes to mind)
Additionally. Typhoon doesnt use AESA. It uses a Mechanical radar until the later Tranch 3 variants. So at least 2 maybe 3 Typhoons before then.
I think end of this year, maybe early next is a reasonable timeline for them. Other nations are brushing against them in terms of performance, Like F-15C MSIP II with 8x AMRAAM already.
Yeah but these things move in steps, like how the f14 got added with arh missiles like two years before they got added to other planes. There’s still a lot of stuff that can happen between now and a eurofighter.
Not a lot though. At least for the Typhoon nations
All 3 can get an upgraded late Tornado IDS. Britian and Italy have some notable loadout options from those, like Brimstone (if they get added) but its a small upgrade for Germany.
After that, there really isnt much.
Britain has a few options, like the Harrier Gr9
Italy I dont think has any except maybe an F-16 with AMRAAM.
And thats it. Thats 3 nations that can basically get nothing.
France im not sure what they have left for their TT before Rafale, but I cant imagine its much
Sweden is basically either F-18 via Finland or Gripen E and thats it.
So thats 50% of nation that will remain status quo until that next step is taken.
Yes, its normal for the US and USSR to get equal or better a few updates before other nations. But arguably they already have started doing so. WIth things like the F-15C. F-18 and Su-30 are my guess for the next major or October.
So either leave 5 nations with what htey have now for next year. or move things along. Besides, Early Typhoons and Rafales are not that big of a jump over the top tiers we already have. Theyd be 13.3 at most, Maybe 13.7 if they decompress top tier a little.
For example. Prototype Typhoons would be 4-6x Aim-9M and 4x Aim-120Bs or Cs. Could get Tornado engines to limit engine performance a little and they dont have their full defensive suite with things like MAWS. In fact they might not even have the full turn performance.
Because they’re the most popular nations and were competing to make better planes than eachother throughout the Cold War so every American plane has a Russian equivalent. Germany on the other hand wasn’t really much of a country during the Cold War and didn’t develop much in the way of planes.
More players = More Money.
Most minor nations combined probably equals the playerbase of US or USSR alone. Greater insentive to keep those nations ahead.
Also they have more things that can be added. Instead of doing what they should do, which is add big jumps for minor nations and then do small jump jumps for the major nations till they catch up they do the invserse.
We saw it last year. Britain and Sweden got nothing for an entire year until they got the Gripen a full year after the F-16 and Mig-29 were added.
GER is a minor nation in WT?
Good one…the problem with GER is permanent mistreatment by GJ.
GJ is lucky to have anyone played GER at this point and if US/USSR had the same treatment, no one would play it long time ago.
I mean doesn’t Super Etendard have a PESA radar? Anyway, the VT4A1 in theory has a Gen II AESA radar, but it should just be a slight upgrade.
I think you got the two topics you were replying to mixed up cause I don’t think the vt4a1 has a radar.
the APS systems use radars
Just a joke, not in game, but IRL it does have an AESA radar for APS for some reason.
if i am right all APS radars are based on AESA
would be disastrous if it detected that inoccent child as an aproaching projectile
Hard kill APS properly need to check if arena was
