German vs USA 8.3 BR balance

I spaded that thing a while ago when it was in the cold war sim bracket against t54s and is6. I loved being the only tank in that br with an apdsfs round. Then they moved it to the bracket with the t55s and t62 and t64a. I dont think ive played it since

Be honest. When was the last time you played German BR 8.0?

I keep a list. 75% of my games in this BR are full uptier.
You can currently play the point provider. That’s it.

As a toptier Leo 1 was certainly excellent. Definitely not anymore.

Same with everyone, your point ?

Oh yeah my bad,i forgot there’s the OF-40 at 8.0 that has the same cannon as the M47 105/55 and STILL without a stab

Man i’m gonna go insane am i 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

I don’t have it and i rarely seen it,but maybe give it another try no?

It’s just BR compression, there is nothing (see: nada, zilch) that we can do about it

meanwhile the t55A with apfsds and stab at 8.3 (yeah yeah slow turret traverse and generally handles like crap but still)

yup

Making more people aware of Magach 5 being OP so it goes up in BR is a good idea.

@Chubbmaster
T-55A fires a chronically average APDS/APFSDS round.
The German M48 firing DM23 is better.

That dart is just a reskinned 3BM-8 APDS.

Still, it’s pretty usable and has stab

Chronically average? i used it a bit and it didn’t seem to be that bad, my main issue with the t55A was the general lack of responsiveness

127x2… 254mm of penetration vs 388mm of DM23 at 60 degrees.
3BM25 is pretty much if not literally 3BM8 with fins and a different SABOT.

Most other 8.3s have stab and a similar round as well, but actually have usable gun handling and better reload speed.
I’d honestly use both Vickers over it any day of the week.

Yeah that dart is on par with most other APDS rounds.

but it isn’t really lacking at all for the br though

Well, technically nothing is cause that’s what the BR system is about.

Lol yeah. What i’m trying to say through my horrendous phrasing is that it’s good enough for leopards and other stuff at the br, and that the gun’s not that bad

laughs in AMX-30 B2 and BRENUS being 8.7 with no stabilization

Every nation has a host of vehicles without stabilizers at 8.0 and 8.3. And many nations have vehicles at those BR’s that DO have stabilizers.

In all of these cases there are other reasons why the tanks are not 9.0. Usually they are slow, a big target, have other miscellaneous weaknesses (for example the reload for the M60A2 is incredibly slow).

I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess you are a German main and are below level 50. A lot of this stuff becomes clearer as you play more and more trees. Things you think are OP become easy kills when you figure out their weaknesses. You usually figure out the weaknesses by playing them and getting stomped by more experienced players.

Wrong: I’m currently playing 8.7. Russia. The distribution is as follows:

30 games with 12 downtier, 8 full uptier and 5/5 partial uptier.

With 25 wins in 30 games.

I know that’s not a representative amount of games. But you can definitely see where the journey is going.

This is not a Russian bias post. The problem is simply that Russia happens to have an excellent 8.7 lineup, which usually comes up against the Germans’ mediocre 8.0 lineup. They seem to be by far the most common lineups in the area (I play both sides.) and force the matchmaker to make this assignment.

I see little possibility of changing that. You can neither raise the Russian tanks in the BR nor lower the German ones.

nothing new.

8.0s get a lot of uptiers because 8.7s get a lot of downtiers, we all know that.
This is about 8.0 tanks without stabilization being really hard to play because uptiers are a norm around that tier, which directly places them against tanks with stabilization/LRF/darts at 8.7/9.0.
