Hi, I wanted to report that the German Tornado IDS WTD61(11.3) is too high in the battle ranking because:
*I have to fight F16, F18
*I can’t bomb the base because I get hit by a radar missile from a MIG 23
*This Tornado has only 2x Aim 9L
*It only has regular 1000 LB bombs (converting it to KG is 500 kg of explosives)
As long as Gaijin hates Tonka and other mud movers
It is never going to happen.
At least you have a better engine than GR.1! Cheer up!
Because Gaijin enjoys to bias famous jets from both USA and USSR.
by letting compression.
Nah, you can’t bomb because you are slower than allied MiG-23 with napalm bomb.
And, Learn how to fool radar missile. (it will help you to survive, but will not help you to bomb)
Because it historically was.
Thanks to it, it is 11.3BR, not 11.7. :/
Again, it is not going to happen.
Check either F-111A(10.7) or F-105D(10.0) and look back at your Tonka.
10.0-10.7 places it in the same range as the Jaguars. That is way too low for the Tonka. 11.0 maybe, but would rather see the Tonkas get buffs.
Try this loadout:
2x 9Ls
2x BOZ
6x Mk83s (I like using high drag in ARB)
And either internal fuel of 30 mins with combat tanks or 45 minutes internal fuel.
Flank left and you’ll probably not get a base on the left, but can usually get behind the enemy team and get one on the right.
I’ve been able to reliably walk away with 1x base kill + 1-2 A2A in the much weaker tornado Gr1 at 11.7. WTD61 is already solid at 11.3 in comparison
As for defending against a R-24R fired by a Mig-23? Stick low (below 150ft) and stay fast, you have 1200 large calibre chaff and an awesome RWR. You know you’ve been fired at, just start dumping metric tons of chaff
i would set up a keybind for seperate flare and chaff deployment at a minimum, but I also recommend a setup that allows for periodic chaff deployment. Set a keybind to swtich CMs modes so that periodic deployment just drops chaff and switch your main CM button from “fire Countermeasures” to “fire flares” and “fire chaff” that way no matter the mode, you can always release flares. Now if anything even starts looking you funny on radar, just switch on chaff dumping. You wont run out.
Finally, if this all continues not to work for you. Dont play ARB. The Tonka is a mudmover and ARB is inherrently a bad design for mudmovers. Try ASB instead, its harder to get into it, but when you do, you will print SLs and RPs. Especially in the WTD61
AFAIK it only has two IR missiles hardpoints because as strike plane (rather strike variant of tornado) it was only expected to fight other aircrafts in self-defense.
Not as much as a problem rather than just describing its aviable loadout.
Why? Its a strike aircraft, its not supposed to be competetive in air to air combat neither should be at BR where it cant be intercepted.
