so i was playing this mig19, the one at 9.3 in the german tech tree, and i noticed a thing: this thing is a very good plane, but war thunder mad it so that it’s pure shit. A legit engine, fast and good for 9.3, 3 30mm guns that hit hard as fuck, quite maneuverable overall but in the end is bullshit for it’s br: you end up at 10.3 and suddenly you are slow, have not enough guns and if someone gets a lock on you you are done. i feel the plane is heavily compressed in it’s br, it would perform better at 9.0-8.7… i get it, i still have to get confortable with guns, but it’s fate is quite sealed. i do good in 9.3 br battles, it’s almost fun, but at 10.3 it’s almost useless. i feel like gaijin knows this very well and they can totally fix all of this, making the game actually fun, but i think they won’t do that because frustration sells the premium and vehicles, but who knows… it’s just the rant of someone with skill issue that doesen’t know anything, right?
its still one of the strongest 9.3s in game
air could easily go to 20.0, not looking forward to the compression hell once IIR and 5th gen comes either. i bet we are only getting 15.7 from that

its there because theres a mirage with magic 1 at 10.0 that hammers the hell out of everyone in a downtier.
and the 9.7 sufferers get touched even worse by the 10.7 F-5 spam. its a vicious compression push from the top being too low, forcing others lower.
no jets are playable in uptiers bar a few lucky ones. real shame as i like a fair amount of earlier jets. Things like the vampire, venom and soon to be the Hawk T1A are going to be pretty damn useless at their respective BRs outside of special cases
i love those and the ww2 era jets, only way i can actually enjoy them is via sim battle with vr and cloche, no way i can deal with su11 in a me262… if only gaijin decided to put top tier to 18.0 instead 14.3… they just want us to be frustrated, don’t they?

Nah, all aspects and high-G IR missiles will screw any 9.3 that gets uptiered to 10.3. Don’t worry too much about it.
They are sidegrades. The German one is lighter and has more guns, in exchange for having no missiles. Besides, it’s not the only pure gun fighter (look at ariete and sagit 2)
one of my favourite planes is the DH100 Vampire. but for some reason this 1943 plane is 8.0 when even the 7.0 supermarine attacker sees it as free food. The ME-262 players are just so damn stupid that a load of turnfighter jets ended up around the first sidewinder equipped planes. Drives me nuts.
there is not all aspect below 10.7 after a “decompression” BR change when the phantoms were still top tier.
Honestly weird for a turnfighter to be undertiered. most of them get spitfire/zero syndrome and end up too high for their own good
