German Helicopter Tech Tree - Current and Future Discussion Thread

The problem I see is that “Kampfhubschrauber Tiger” is just a literal description of the helicopter; Tiger attack helicopter. I don’t see the shortened form used anywhere.

yeah but UHT comes from its 2013 designation of
Unterstützungshubschrauber Tiger (i did not type that lol i cant)
so the
Kampfhubschrauber Tiger should shorted to KH-T
but i do see your point, ive tried to find official abbreviations for it but so far havent gotten the abbreviation on any gov website

I will add it to the list of reports and have a look around to see if I can find any reference to it being called the KHT.

Not German but a nice walk around of a Fr*nch Tiger :)

From https://www.bmvg.de/resource/blob/5536600/e30866858da147e1b88c687e902df964/20221205-download-16-bericht-des-bmvg-zu-ruestungsangelegenheiten-data.pdf :

So, the actual official name is KH Tiger, which make sense as the T in UHT just stands for Tiger. By calling it Tiger UHT (or KHT) it’s actually being called ‘Tiger Support Helicopter Tiger’.

yeah fair point. but seeing gaijins naming convention… they might just go with KHT or maybe who knows… actually get this historically accurate

It’s a joke

My hope for next major update German can get heli with mounted chin gun. Im fine if the heli come from other nation. Current UHT really disadvantage without mounted chin gun and only got cope stinger. Even UHT got 11.7 while this heli cant run and kill slow maneuverability Su25 who flying near this heli (since the stinger really cope and trash compared to TY-90)

Unless if they roll in the dutch Apache, we can only keep on dreaming.

Either a Dutch Apache or Spanish/Aussie Tiger

Spanish one great addition, the armament same as current EC-665 Mk II from France TT, iirc.

yeah i made a suggestion for that recently

I do oppose the German need helicopters with a turret, at present, there is even no a helicopter with a movable turret in German heli tech tree, whereas, I think a Tigre helicopter with it should be added in the tech tree, but I don’t know if German ever had the tiger HAP or other variants with turret equipped

Thats why Spanish EC-665 Mk. II is not bad addition for German tt. Since that heli has same feature as current Ec-665 Mk. II in France tt. The problem with all German heli is all of them didnt have chin turret. Thats why we need something from other nation to fix this problem. Since german is the producent of EC-665, Aussie and Spanish EC-665 might be good addition (but I prefer Spanish one)

Adding the Nederlandish or Swiss vehicles maybe a good idea to the German tt. As I concerned, these German-speaking region should be a part in the German tt so that we can have a F16 or F20

In theory yes there is a proposed upgradekit for the UHT that gives it a turret, which unfortunately was declined due to political reasons. At the same time the UHT is still missing its Asgard upgradekit giving it the ability to either carry 12 Pars, or 8 Pars + 70mm Rocketpods and Stingers (aka the competitive upgrade ingame). In its current state its not a 11.7 Helicopter anymore since Italy and France got FnF missiles with more range, turret and AAM at the same BR. By now the UHT could easily be set at 10.3 due to its limited capabilites in comparison to other Helis at that BR.

Read these threads on the old forum and you´ll notice that basically nothing will be done to increase Germanys capabilites bar making it competitve. Especially due to recent game decisions in regards to Germany.

In regards to the 9kg explosive mass, if you compare the Hellfire in size with the Pars in reality and ingame, the Hellfire either should also only have 3kg of explosive mass or the Pars should also have around 9kg of explosive mass (maybe it´d be worth coming from that angle of approach?). Although they´ll probably pull the same excuse they used on the Nords for having half/third of its historical warhead.
